Job Summary
Overview PositionWe are seeking a scientifically motivated individual for a pre-Ph.D./M.S. research opportunity within the MGH Hepatology research environment. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of a one-to-two-year extension, emphasizing training and the acquisition of advanced biological and computational skills. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative team, work under the direct mentorship of Principal Investigator Prof. Nadia Alatrakchi and learn essential skills for a future career in science.
Research Focus
Our laboratory studies immune cell populations in the setting of human disease, with a particular focus on innate immunity. We utilize in vitro and in vivo assays, single-cell RNA sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics to investigate the liver microenvironment and peripheral blood of patients and animal models of fatty liver disease. Additionally, we study chronic viral hepatitis pathologies, including HBV and HIV coinfections. Our goal is to uncover the molecular mechanisms driving disease progression to develop more effective therapeutic strategies and predictive diagnostic tests.
