Financial Accountant

Location: Mascot,NSW

Hourly Rate: $65ph + Super

Role Highlights:
Ongoing temporary opportunity with an established manufacturing business. Gain exposure to a multi-site operation while working closely with the Finance Manager in a hands-on financial accounting position.

Role Overview

Working closely with the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will take ownership of a range of core accounting activities across the business. The role will have a strong focus on general ledger accounting, journals, reconciliations, month-end processes and inventory, with the successful candidate playing an important role in maintaining accurate and timely financial information.

The position will suit someone who enjoys a hands-on accounting environment and understands the financial requirements of a manufacturing operation. With multiple branches and sites across the business, the role provides the opportunity to work across a varied accounting environment while supporting the broader finance function.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post general ledger journals and adjustments
• Assist with month-end accounting and reporting processes
• Complete balance sheet and account reconciliations
• Support inventory accounting and related financial controls
• Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis
• Work with stakeholders across multiple branches and locations
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc accounting requirements
• Contribute to maintaining effective accounting processes and controls

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of the accounting processes that underpin a product-based business. Experience across inventory, general ledger and month-end accounting will be essential, with the ability to work confidently across detailed financial information.

They will be a hands-on and proactive accountant who can quickly understand a new business and take ownership of their responsibilities. Experience working across multiple sites or branches will be highly regarded, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance and operational stakeholders. Previous ASX-listed experience is not required.
