Head Chef – Brasserie
North Leeds | £45,000–£50,000 + £3,000–£4,000 Tronc | Live-In Available
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Chef to join a well-established hotel in a desirable North Leeds suburb, leading the kitchen operation for its busy Brasserie.
Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will take day-to-day responsibility for the Brasserie kitchen, leading the team and ensuring consistently high standards across food quality, presentation and service. There will also be some involvement in banqueting and wider hotel operations when required.
We are looking for a chef with around 3–4 years' experience at Head Chef or senior Sous Chef level, ideally within a casual fine dining, modern British or quality hotel environment. You should have a genuine passion for fresh, well-presented food and be keen to contribute ideas and get involved in menu development and ongoing culinary improvements.
The Role
- Lead the Brasserie kitchen on a day-to-day basis
- Work closely with the Executive Chef on menus, standards and development
- Manage, motivate and develop the kitchen team
- Maintain consistently high food quality and presentation
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal changes
- Support the hotel's banqueting operation as required
- Ensure excellent food hygiene, health & safety and kitchen standards
- Help drive a positive, professional kitchen culture
The Ideal Candidate
- 3–4 years' experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef
- Background in casual fine dining, modern British or high-quality hotel kitchens
- Strong fresh food and menu development experience
- Confident leading and developing a kitchen team
- Organised, hands-on and commercially aware
- Passionate about food and maintaining high standards
- Comfortable working across both restaurant and banqueting operations
