Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $39.60 - $39.60/hour

Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Specialist. This position will provide support to the WSBOSC Shops and IDIQ teams. The selected employee will have the primary responsibility of ensuring that West Sound Base Operation Support Contract (WSBOSC), employees and subcontractors conduct their work within contract requirements as well as Federal, State, and County Regulations as it relates to environmental compliance.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws for in-house and IDIQ work.
Review contractor activities for compliance with environmental permits, policies, and contract specifications.
Monitor air, water, soil, and waste management practices.
Prepare detailed inspection reports highlighting findings, violations, and corrective actions.
Take samples of building materials, lead, asbestos, water, wastewater, soils, hazardous materials as required for worker right to know surveys and waste designation.
Adhere to chain of custody requirements for samples sent for lab analysis.
Maintain records of environmental sampling, test results, and contractor communications.
Track progress on remediation or compliance measures across task orders.
Serve as the liaison between Tessera IDIQ team and subcontractors regarding environmental matters.
Ensure that environmental requirements are integrated into each task order under the IDIQ framework.
Advise contractors on best practices for minimizing environmental impact.
Adapt inspection protocols to each task’s unique environmental risks.
Ensure consistency in compliance across all task orders.
Ensure timely resolution of non-compliance issues.
Review Environmental submittals for content and compliance.
All Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Compliance or closely related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
3-5 Years of experience in Environmental or closely related field.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
