About the job:
- Lead and manage daily import and export activities to ensure on-time and compliant shipment execution
- Review shipping and customs documentation, including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading / Air Waybill, Certificate of Origin (COO), Used Equipment Certificate, Dangerous Goods (DG) Declaration, Out of 3C Catalogue Certificate, and other government-required documents
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve logistics, transportation, and customs clearance issues
- Coordinate closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Establish contingency plans to minimize supply chain disruptions and business impact
- Ensure full compliance with China Customs regulations, international trade regulations, and company trade compliance policies
- Manage customs audits, government inspections, and regulatory inquiries
- Lead HS Classification reviews and maintain classification accuracy
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate potential business impacts
- Support FTAs (Free Trade Agreements), COO management, and duty-saving initiatives
- Identify and mitigate import/export compliance risks
- Manage transportation performance and logistics service provider relationships
- Develop and monitor KPIs including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Customs Clearance Lead Time, Freight Cost, Logistics Cost as % of Revenue, and Broker Performance
- Conduct RFP evaluations and transportation cost analysis
- Drive freight cost reduction initiatives and annual savings projects
- Support logistics budget planning and forecasting
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of logistics and customs-related data within SAP, TMS, and other business systems
- Develop regular dashboards and management reports
- Analyze logistics performance data and identify root causes of operational issues
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics Management, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, customs compliance, or supply chain management
- 2-3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of International Trade Compliance, China Customs Regulations, Import/Export Operations, HS Classification, Incoterms® 2020, Duty & Tax Management, and Free Trade Agreements (FTA)
- Hands-on experience with SAP (ERP), TMS (Transportation Management System), and Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel preferred)
- Power BI and data analytics tool experience preferred
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Fluent English in both written and verbal communication
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and government authorities
- Strong knowledge of China Customs regulations and import/export processes
- Experience managing transportation tenders (RFPs) and logistics cost optimization projects preferred
- Customs Broker Certification, AEO Internal Auditor certification, or International Trade Compliance certification preferred
