Job Profile Summary
Serves as the senior subject matter expert for Payments Client Services, providing strategic leadership and advanced expertise across payment investigations, correspondent banking, SWIFT messaging, and institutional client servicing. Acts as the highest escalation point for clients pertaining to complex payment matters and partners with leadership to drive service improvements, operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and client experience initiatives.
Major Duties
- Serve as the senior escalation point for the most complex, high-risk, and time-sensitive payment investigations and client issues.
- Advise senior stakeholders, Relationship Managers, and clients on payment servicing matters and industry developments.
- Lead resolution of complex cross-border payment investigations by partnering with Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Sanctions teams.
- Establish servicing standards, operating procedures, governance frameworks, and best practices for the Payments Client Services function.
- Analyze client servicing trends and recommend strategic improvements to enhance client experience, operational effectiveness, and risk management.
- Lead client service reviews, executive client discussions, and remediation efforts relating to payment servicing concerns.
- Drive strategic projects, operational enhancements, regulatory initiatives, and payment modernization efforts.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to Client Payment Liaison Consultants and Sr. Consultants along with building procedures and structure for Global Banking.
- Maintain expertise in SWIFT standards, ISO 20022 migration, correspondent banking, payment market infrastructures, and emerging payment technologies.

Salary Range:
$118,450 – $175,000Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
