Application Support Lead Analyst - Vice President

Banking Technology is looking for an experienced Application Support Analyst – Senior with strong Java development expertise and a passion for exploring AI technologies.

This position uniquely combines Strong Java development foundation with hands-on coding responsibilities Application support expertise in high-pressure, client-facing environments AI exploration and integration opportunities to drive innovation in support operations.

We are looking for an avid technologist who:

• Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information.
• Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.
• Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner.
• Has developed communication and diplomacy skills required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information.
• Can have moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
• Has experience in demanding client-facing environments, such as a trading floor or client site, where quick turnaround and performance under pressure are critical.

What You Bring

Core Technical Skills (Required)

• Java Development Expertise: 2+ years of hands-on application development experience with strong proficiency in:
• Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
• Java Spring Boot framework and related stack
• RESTful API design and implementation
• Microservices architecture and best practices
• Application Support Experience: 6+ years in application support role, with proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Database Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Oracle, MS SQL, and MongoDB
• Frontend Technologies: Good understanding of Angular 2+ and UI/UX design principles
• Enterprise Application Support: Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications

AI & Emerging Technologies (Required/Preferred)

• Interest in AI: Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to explore artificial intelligence technologies
• AI Experience (Highly Preferred): Hands-on experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
• Implementing AI-powered monitoring tools and predictive analytics for incident detection
• Leveraging generative AI for documentation, troubleshooting guides, or automation
• Using AI-driven anomaly detection for system monitoring and optimization

Additional Technical Skills

• Capital Markets Domain: Experience in configuring, debugging, or supporting business applications in Capital Markets, preferably Debt or Equity Capital Markets Origination
• Advanced Execution Capabilities: Ability to adjust quickly to changes, especially in prioritization
• Communication Skills: Excellent writing and communication skills, with ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
• Problem-Solving: Passion for solving tough problems and proposing elegant solutions
• Adaptability: Work well under pressure and changing priorities
• Continuous Learning: Avid learner with ability to learn and adapt, teach others, and encourage idea exchange and information percolation

On a Typical Day, You Will...

Application Support & Development

• Provide technical and business support for users of Citi Applications, including providing quick resolutions to app issues and driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements
• Write and maintain high-quality Java code for application enhancements, bug fixes, and new features using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture
• Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors, and serve as an advisor or coach to new or junior analysts
• Participate in application releases, from development, testing, and deployment into production
• Perform post-release checkouts after application releases and infrastructure updates
• Develop and maintain technical support documentation

AI Integration & Innovation

• Explore and integrate AI technologies into support workflows to improve efficiency and automate repetitive tasks
• Leverage AI-powered monitoring tools and predictive analytics to proactively identify root causes and prevent future incidents
• Develop and enhance support documentation and troubleshooting guides using generative AI to ensure rapid and accurate resolution of recurring issues
• Continuously monitor application performance and stability, utilizing AI-driven anomaly detection to optimize system reliability and minimize downtime

Education

• Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
