Description
Meet the team:
Join us at Dexcom, a dynamic company where we are the innovative force transforming diabetes management. As part of our team of program managers, you will drive the development of groundbreaking technologies that empower individuals to better understand the factors affecting their glucose levels and overall health in real time.
At Dexcom, we embrace the future not only through our products but also in our people, practices, and culture. This is a unique, once-in-a-career opportunity offering broad responsibilities, challenging goals, supportive resources, and a world-class team.
As a Staff Technical Program Manager for the Innovation Ventures & Sensor Technology (IVST) PMO, you will lead the development of early-stage technologies with a focus on rapidly delivering productization-ready solutions. You will oversee multiple, complex projects, coordinating both inter- and intra-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Where you come in:
- Technical Leadership: You will lead technical, cross-functional, technology development projects, demonstrating leadership, growth, and flexibility within the Dexcom IVST group, leveraging your own domain expertise to ensure successful program execution.
- Project Execution: You will develop, track, and report on project plans; create and maintain detailed project schedules; and identify and escalate program and technology risks. You will manage work both inside and upstream of formal medical device design controls, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulatory guidelines, standards, and procedures.
- Stakeholder Alignment: You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and process tasks and deliverables, ensuring alignment with goals and schedules for early-stage technology projects.
- Strategic Communication: You will maintain effective communication with business leadership across all levels and functions, particularly within R&D, tailoring information to the audience’s knowledge level.
What makes you successful:
- Ambiguity Management: Comfortable and enthusiastic about operating in the dynamic and undefined space of early technology development; capable of leading teams through significant uncertainty in early development and exploration contexts. Strong leadership of project teams using organization, coordination, and consensus-building skills while communicating a clear vision for project success.
- Domain Expertise: Strong technical background in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science. Experience in medical device development or the health technology industry, especially related to sensor and algorithm development is a plus.
- Project Management Mastery: Excellent project management skills (waterfall and hybrid), with a proven ability to develop and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Skilled in managing detailed schedules, establishing and maintaining program priorities, managing risks, and driving accountability and execution across technical teams. PMP certification is a plus.
- Communication Excellence: Ability to convey complex technical and business information clearly and effectively through presentations, documentation, reports, and meetings. Able to distill information to the most essential points relevant to a variety of audiences and communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Industry Experience: Experience in medical device development or the health technology industry is a plus. Experience with biosensors and/or wearable devices is a strong plus, as is a proven track record of having delivered medical devices/technologies from concept through design transfer to production and commercialization.
- Tool Proficiency: Proficient with project management tools, including Smartsheet, Confluence, and Microsoft Office products. Be a willing and active participant in exploring reasonable and efficient application of GenAI tools to meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Soft Skills: Highly motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently. Positive attitude, curious, driven to succeed, and able to inspire others in ambiguous circumstances.
