About the role

PETER DÖHLE Schiffahrts-KG is a provider of global maritime services with roots in Hamburg and home ports all over the world. In addition to our core business, we are involved in a range of diversified investments, for which we are seeking an experienced Investment Manager (m/f/d) to join our team. This is a generalist role suited to professionals with a strong background in banking, consulting, or a related field, who bring sharp analytical thinking, commercial judgment, and the ability to work across the full investment lifecycle — from origination to execution and ongoing portfolio oversight. .

Your tasks and responsibilities:.

• Identify, source, and evaluate new investment opportunities across all asset classes, including but not limited to private equity/ venture captial, equities, fixed income and real estate
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, valuation, and financial modeling to support investment decisions
• Lead and coordinate due diligence processes, working with internal teams and external advisors
• Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and materials for internal committees and decision-makers
• Support the structuring and execution of transactions
• Monitor and manage existing portfolio investments, including performance tracking and value creation initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with management teams, advisors, banks, and other key stakeholders
• Contribute to market research and strategic analysis to identify trends and opportunities
• Prepare regular reporting for internal and external stakeholders

Your profile

• Ideally an academic background in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline 
• Minimum of 3–5 years experience in at least two relevant asset classes or investment banking/ consulting/ PE
• Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills, with strong proficiency in Excel 
• Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
• Sharp analytical thinking, independent investment judgment, willingness to challenge market views
• High commercial acumen, attention to detail and highly interested in IT & AI
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment 
• Strong communicator and curious about global markets
• Travel-ready, internationally minded
• Team player with a proactive, hands-on mindset, who is willing to take over responsibility
