As an IT Systems Administrator, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, performance, and cybersecurity of IT systems while supporting multi-domain operations and open systems architectures. About the Program: SBI serves as the first all-digital program within the U.S. Space Force, leveraging MTSI’s expertise to establish a government-owned DEE that accelerates development, ensures interoperability, and secures workflows. This position supports next-generation capabilities across space vehicles, ground systems, and fire control systems elements, driving mission agility, iterative prototyping, and operational alignment. Key Responsibilities: System Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, hardware, virtual environments, and network devices to meet program needs. Manage servers, workstations, storage, and peripheral systems as part of a high-performance IT infrastructure. System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance and uptime using diagnostic tools, resolving issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Access and Security Management: Implement and enforce security measures, including access controls, endpoint protections, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Perform security compliance tasks such as patch management, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities in accordance with DoD standards (e.g., RMF, DISA STIGs). Infrastructure Support: Maintain virtualized environments using hypervisor technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to support program requirements. Support systems integration efforts, ensuring interoperability across hardware and software architectures. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and downtime. Test disaster recovery scenarios and support risk mitigation strategies. Network and Communication Support: Maintain network connectivity, including configuration and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and firewalls. Support secure communication architectures to ensure the availability of critical data services. Documentation and Compliance: Generate and maintain technical documentation, such as system diagrams, SOPs, and user guides, ensuring accuracy and compliance with DoD policies. Ensure systems adhere to DoD authorization standards and cybersecurity frameworks. Collaboration and Consultation: Coordinate with program stakeholders, engineers, and other IT professionals to align system capabilities with mission objectives. Provide technical expertise and recommendations for system improvements and upgrades. Required Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with years related experience Required Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI. U.S. Citizenship required. Required Skills: Experience as a Systems Administrator supporting mission-critical IT environments, preferably within DoD or aerospace programs. Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux-based operating systems. Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, routing) and network security practices. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM. Working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as RMF, DISA STIGs, and NIST 800-53. CompTIA Security+ required. #LI-AT
