Primary Function:
The Business Operations Lead serves as an integrator across Dashiell, working directly with the President to translate strategic priorities into disciplined execution. This role prioritizes initiatives across the business and ensures that near-term solutions for immediate needs are aligned with the company’s long-term transformation goals. The Business Operations Lead also drives process cohesion across all divisions and helps set the tone for how the organization works together. As Dashiell continues to grow, this role leads the effort to scale the organization so that its processes, systems, and ways of working are built for the business Dashiell is growing into, not just the business it is today. The position will be based in our Houston, TX office located at 12301 Kurland Drive, Suite 400, Houston, TX 77034 and will report to Dashiell’s VP, Transformation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:
- Translate priorities from the President and the VP, Transformation into clear, actionable plans with defined owners, milestones, and measures of success.
- Triage and prioritize competing requests and initiatives across the business, balancing day-to-day operational needs against strategic and transformation priorities.
- Evaluate interim or point-solution requests from divisions against the long-term transformation roadmap, flag conflicts, and recommend a path that serves both immediate needs and durable outcomes.
- Lead the effort to scale Dashiell’s operating model, organizational structure, and systems to support the company’s continued growth.
- Partner with division leaders across Preconstruction, Engineering, Sales, Dacon, Project Management, IT, and Transformation to standardize and document processes, strengthen handoffs across the project lifecycle, and remove cross-functional friction.
- Support the President’s operating rhythm, including meeting cadence, follow-through, and decision tracking, so issues are identified, discussed, and solved rather than revisited.
- Maintain visibility into priorities, scorecards, and key initiatives across divisions, surfacing risks and blockers to the President and the VP, Transformation before they escalate.
- Facilitate cross-divisional alignment sessions that drive common goals and consistent ways of working.
- Act as a point of coordination for the President on select initiatives, helping ensure decisions and commitments are carried through to completion.
- Build and maintain reporting and communication rhythms that keep the President, the VP, Transformation, and the leadership team informed without creating unnecessary overhead.
- Identify organizational, process, or resourcing gaps that slow execution, and drive the fixes directly or through the right owner.
- Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Integrate strategy and execution by turning the President’s and the VP of Transformation’s priorities into clear plans that owners can execute against.
- Align day-to-day operating needs with long-term transformation goals, and evaluate interim point solutions against the long-term roadmap before they are approved.
- Help scale Dashiell’s operating model and ways of working to support continued growth without losing the discipline the business is built on.
- Drive cross-divisional cohesion by aligning Preconstruction, Engineering, Sales, Dacon, Project Management, IT, and Transformation leaders on common goals, and by standardizing processes to reduce duplication and friction.
- Support the leadership operating rhythm through consistent meeting cadence, follow-through, and decision tracking.
- Surface risks, blockers, and resourcing gaps before they escalate, and maintain reporting that keeps leadership informed without adding overhead.
