Loudoun County’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services are seeking qualified candidates for the Home Delivered Meals position. This role involves overseeing the Home-Delivered Meals (HDM) program in partnership with Loudoun County’s Nutrition Services. Operating under the direction of the designated supervisor, this position involves designing, establishing, and managing a specific departmental program with staff members. Key responsibilities include marketing program services throughout the community, administering the program budget, overseeing the delivery of services, maintaining accurate program records, and assessing program revenue generation and achievement of objectives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Formulates, establishes, executes, and assesses comprehensive programs, excursions, and specialized occasions; recognizes qualified instructors and volunteer personnel to facilitate program delivery; and collaborates with organizational staff to guarantee adequate staffing and operational support.
- Communicates with clients, volunteers, and vendors about delivery schedules, special dietary needs, and any service issues.
- Ensures meals are prepared, packaged, and delivered according to county and health safety standards.
- Coordinates with meal vendors, the kitchen, and volunteers to ensure correct meal counts, special dietary needs, and timely delivery.
- Communicate directly with clients and volunteers about service status, delivery issues, and any changes in client needs.
- Ensure volunteers complete required background checks and follow safety and sanitation procedures.
- Create daily meal delivery lists, factoring in cancellations, holidays, and weekends.
- May execute additional critical responsibilities that are particular to the assigned position and departmental function.
Hiring salary commensurate with experience.
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the assigned program or department and one (1) year related work experience with some lead or supervisory experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Qualifications: - Bilingual skills preferred.
Must undergo criminal background, credit, and DMV checks. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. Driving records shall be subject to annual review to maintain ongoing qualification status. Hold or obtain applicable food service certifications within three (3) months of hire to include a Food Service Sanitation Certification, a ServeSafe Certification. Hold or obtain First Aid/CPR certifications at hire or within four (4) months.
