About the Position
Citadel Security USA is seeking a Security Operations Supervisor to lead assigned personnel during the afternoon and evening shift. This role combines frontline security knowledge with responsibility for staffing, officer performance, documentation, compliance, and daily operational coordination.
The supervisor must be able to move between administrative and field responsibilities throughout the shift. When staffing circumstances require additional support, the supervisor may perform officer duties directly while coordinating a replacement or communicating the situation to management.
What You Will Handle
Shift Coordination
- Prepare the team for each shift by reviewing staffing, assignments, instructions, and relevant updates.
- Lead shift-start briefings and provide a complete operational handoff at shift change.
- Verify that every scheduled position is filled by an appropriately qualified officer.
- Track officer arrival times and ensure post relief occurs as scheduled.
- Report attendance problems, no-shows, and tardiness to the Contract Manager without delay.
- Coordinate solutions for same-day vacancies caused by call-offs or early departures.
- Step into an uncovered assignment when required to keep services running.
- Identify developing staffing problems and communicate them before coverage is affected.
Officer Leadership
- Supervise assigned officers and provide practical direction throughout the shift.
- Reinforce expectations concerning conduct, appearance, communication, and job performance.
- Assist officers with questions regarding post orders and daily procedures.
- Help identify training needs and support employee development.
- Monitor compliance with required credentials, licenses, and assignment qualifications.
- Provide feedback regarding performance and escalate significant concerns appropriately.
Post Orders & Compliance
- Ensure officers perform duties according to established post orders.
- Monitor compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.
- Review assignment procedures with personnel when changes occur.
- Support management with inspections, audits, and corrective action activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation concerning shift operations.
Reporting & Incident Response
- Provide supervisory support during incidents and unusual situations.
- Ensure appropriate notifications are made to management and authorized contacts.
- Review daily activity reports and incident documentation for accuracy.
- Maintain records of significant events, staffing changes, equipment issues, and other operational matters.
- Protect confidential information and exercise appropriate discretion.
Timekeeping & Overtime
- Review employee time entries through TrackTik.
- Confirm clock-in and clock-out information is accurate.
- Submit discrepancies and exceptions for Contract Manager review.
- Watch scheduled hours and identify situations that may create overtime.
- Communicate anticipated overtime before it is incurred and obtain required approval.
Client & Team Relations
- Maintain respectful, professional communication with client representatives and assigned personnel.
- Address routine operational questions and escalate issues requiring management involvement.
- Support consistent service standards across the shift.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional conduct.
- Serve as a reliable connection between field officers and management.
Equipment Oversight
- Monitor issued equipment, uniforms, credentials, and other company property.
- Identify missing, damaged, or malfunctioning items.
- Report equipment concerns through the appropriate channels.
- Encourage responsible use and proper accountability for company assets.
Required Qualification
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License
- 1-3 years of experience in private security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security licensing or guard card credentials required for the assignment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise personnel and make practical decisions in time-sensitive situations.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with management and field teams.
- Credible professional references.
- Required I-9 employment eligibility documentation.
- Successful completion of background screening and any client-required testing, including drug screening where applicable.
Preferred Qualification
- Previous security supervisor, team lead, or shift-lead experience.
- College coursework in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Management, or a related area.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to company and insurance standards.
- Current CPR and First Aid credentials or ability to obtain them within the required timeframe.
- Experience with workforce scheduling, attendance tracking, or timekeeping systems.
- Previous experience using TrackTik or comparable security workforce software.
- Experience coordinating emergency staffing coverage and managing officer call-offs.
