The senior facilities services manager maintains and enhances conditions across a portfolio of coffeehouses while providing strategic leadership, operational expertise, and organizational support. This role leads a team of facilities services managers, partners closely with Seattle Support Center teams, and serves as a subject matter expert for facilities maintenance, capital planning, supplier management, and operational excellence initiatives. Through leadership, collaboration, and effective stewardship of resources, this role enables Operations to deliver The Starbucks Experience while maintaining brand standards across an assigned region. This role combines people leadership, operational excellence, strategic planning, and subject matter expertise to ensure Starbucks stores operate safely, reliably, and consistently while enabling an exceptional partner and customer experience.

Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop up to three facilities services managers, fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and partner development.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure consistent execution of facilities strategies and priorities.
- Build organizational capability through coaching, succession planning, talent development, and knowledge sharing.
Strategy & Business Management
- Present business metrics, status updates, timelines, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to influence partnership, Operations ownership, and leadership decision-making.
- Identify and implement solutions for complex operational and facilities challenges while balancing risk, cost, customer impact, and business priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for facilities operations, maintenance programs, store condition, supplier performance, and capital investment strategies.
Facilities Operations & Financial Management
- Forecast, execute, and oversee Repair & Maintenance and Facilities Capital investments within budget tolerance while ensuring alignment with store condition strategies and SOX compliance requirements.
- Oversee a portfolio of 80+ coffeehouses, ensuring safe, reliable, and brand-right environments.
- Manage an annual capital plan of $2.0M+ and an annual expense plan of $6.0M+, driving effective prioritization and investment decisions.
Subject Matter Expertise & Organizational Support
- Serve as a Facilities subject matter expert for SSC partners, Operations leaders, and cross-functional teams.
- Partner with SSC teams to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of facilities programs, enterprise projects, pilot programs, standards, SOPs, and strategic initiatives.
- Represent Facilities Services in cross-functional forums and influence enterprise-wide decisions related to maintenance, asset management, supplier performance, capital planning, and operational readiness.
We’d love to hear from people with:
- High School diploma or GED or a minimum of 4 years of US military experience
- Bachelor's degree in facilities, construction management, architecture, or business-related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of reporting and mobile business applications experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Facilities, Construction or a related mechanical trade with experience managing service and maintenance vendors
- Minimum of 5 years of Capital and Expense budget accountability
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and preventative maintenance programs
- Minimum of 5 years of retail or restaurant chain operations experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Intermediate knowledge of database queries and analysis
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in a timely manner, both orally and in writing
- Affiliated systems management experience i.e. work task management program, enterprise data
- Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
- Strong negotiations skills with the ability to negotiate rates, terms and administer contracts with a supplier network
- Knowledge of general construction and standard building trades
- Previous QSR experience preferred
- Previous experience leading direct reports preferred
- Willing to work out of our corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
