About the Role
Wallace P. Johnson Plumbing is hiring an experienced Commercial Construction Journeyman Plumber to install plumbing systems on commercial and industrial projects across Southern California. You’ll work under a supervisor, take ownership of quality workmanship, and help guide apprentices while collaborating with other trades.
What You’ll Do (Commercial Construction)
- Install all phases of commercial plumbing systems: underground, top-out, and finish
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, fixture submittals, and job drawings
- Install plumbing in compliance with applicable codes and industry regulations
- Coordinate professionally with field teams and other trades to keep production moving
- Provide daily guidance, training, and direction to apprentices (as assigned)
- Maintain a clean, safe jobsite and follow company safety procedures
Requirements
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience (construction-focused)
- Strong ability to read plans and execute scope accurately
- Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and analytical skills
- Reliable attendance, professional communication, and teamwork mindset
- Ability to comply with all relevant industry regulations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull/carry materials; maneuver heavier items with help/equipment
- Ability to carry ladders, work at heights, and work in crawl spaces
