Purpose of role:
MUFG is seeking an Associate for Supply Chain Finance Solutions and Delivery to join their Transaction Banking team in Singapore, supporting the APAC region. This role offers you the chance to be at the centre of client operations, acting as the primary contact for both buyers and suppliers within a dynamic cross-border environment. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations of the Trade Payables Services Platform, delivering high-quality support to internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do:
As an Associate, you will be immersed in a highly collaborative environment where your interpersonal skills will shine. Your daily responsibilities revolve around managing the SCF Support inbox serving as the main point of contact for APAC buyers and suppliers and ensuring that all enquiries are resolved promptly according to established SLAs. You will provide expert guidance on TPS platform usage while tracking open cases meticulously to guarantee client satisfaction. By engaging directly with clients to understand their unique needs and contributing valuable insights for process enhancement, you will help shape the future of supply chain finance operations..
- Own and manage the Supply Chain Finance Support inbox as the primary contact point for APAC buyer and supplier enquiries, ensuring all requests are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Monitor, triage, and respond to client requests in line with service level agreements, guaranteeing timely and accurate resolution of payment and programme-related queries such as payment status, settlement timelines, eligible invoices, and discount rates.
- Provide user support for TPS platform usage by offering navigation guidance and first-line troubleshooting assistance to both internal teams and external clients.
- Track open cases diligently, manage client expectations throughout the enquiry process, escalate complex issues when necessary, and identify recurring problems to share insights for process improvement.
- Engage buyers and suppliers proactively to understand their needs, provide tailored support solutions, contribute to knowledge base enhancements, and assist implementation or supplier acquisition leads as required.
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, resolutions, maintenance activities; manage user onboarding/offboarding processes; ensure correct access permissions; facilitate settlement account updates; maintain distribution lists; execute programme adjustments within agreed timelines; uphold audit trails; coordinate with Operations/Technology for system-level changes.
- Represent SCF Support professionally in all interactions by building strong relationships with internal teams (Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance) and external clients; collaborate effectively to resolve issues; support Relationship Managers with client materials, data requests, operational queries; produce reports on volumes, trends, resolution times, SLA performance; support periodic reviews of procedures and escalation frameworks.
- Develop strong expertise in the TPS platform through continuous training sessions, user acceptance testing (UAT), briefings; support onboarding of new clients onto the platform; act as a feedback channel to Product Team for system improvements.
- Support client reporting requirements by preparing detailed reports on operational metrics such as resolution times and SLA adherence.
- Contribute actively to process improvements by identifying pain points from client interactions and sharing actionable insights with relevant teams.
What you bring:
To excel in this position, you will bring substantial experience focusing on client service or operations within financial services or trade finance sectors. Your background demonstrates proficiency not only in handling complex supply chain finance products but also in navigating digital platforms used for transaction banking. Exposure across APAC markets has given you valuable insight into local business practices enabling you to tailor your approach according to diverse client needs.
- Minimum 3+ years’ of experience in a client service or operations role within financial services or trade finance environments where attention to detail is paramount.
- Your proven track record includes demonstrated experience in Supply Chain Finance or Payables Finance products—or related working capital/trade finance offerings—which is highly preferred.
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or another relevant discipline which underpins your technical expertise.
- You have supported or troubleshot digital platforms before; familiarity with transaction banking systems is considered a strong advantage.
- Exposure to APAC markets has equipped you with an understanding of regional business practices and nuanced client expectations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) enables you to handle daily tasks efficiently; experience using CRM or ticketing systems such as JIRA or Salesforce is beneficial.
- Your ability to read interpret communicate on financial transactions payment flows account structures allows you to provide clear guidance during complex situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enable you to build trust-based relationships across teams while maintaining professionalism during every interaction.
- Strong organisational skills help you manage multiple cases simultaneously without compromising accuracy or responsiveness.
