Job Description
 

Key Responsibilities

 

Collect, clean, validate, and analyse data from multiple systems and sources.

Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports to support business and operational decision-making.

Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to understand end-to-end business processes and ensure accurate interpretation of financial data within reporting and dashboards.

Analyse source to settle (STS) and financial transaction data to support operational and financial reporting, including monitoring purchase orders, goods receipts, invoice processing, and payment performance.

Use advanced Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, trend analysis, and report preparation.

Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and interrogate data.

Support data preparation, automation, and analytical tasks using Python where appropriate.

Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions.

Translate business requirements into logical analytical outputs and reporting solutions.

Work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver insights clearly.

Assist in improving data quality, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency.

Stay informed on emerging tools, analytics trends, and AI capabilities that could enhance team performance.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and curiosity.

Support process improvement initiatives using the Microsoft Power Platform, including building simple automations in Power Automate and managing structured data using Microsoft Lists

 

 

Required Skills & Competencies

 

Technical Skills:

Advanced Excel skills including:

Pivot tables

Lookup functions (XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH)

Power Query

Data cleansing and manipulation

Formulas and logical functions

Charts and reporting

Strong working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.

Good understanding of SQL for querying and extracting data from relational databases.

Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation, or scripting.

Understanding of data structures, reporting logic, and visualization best practices.

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate, and Microsoft Lists, to support data workflows, process automation, and structured data capture.

Business & Finance Knowledge:

 

Understanding of core finance and procurement processes, including Purchase-to-Pay (STS), Accounts Payable, Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GR/IR), and purchase order lifecycle management.

Ability to interpret financial and operational data, understanding how business transactions flow through systems and impact reporting, accruals, commitments, and financial controls.

Understanding of the relationship between purchase orders, receipts, invoices, and payments, and how these elements drive financial reporting and business performance measurement.

 

 

Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills:

 

Experience with ETL tools or data transformation processes.

Understanding of KPI reporting and performance metrics.

Familiarity with financial, operational, or business data.

Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles.

Experience using AI-enabled productivity or analytics tools.

Exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate or similar platforms.

Understanding of financial controls, accrual accounting concepts, and month-end reporting processes.

Knowledge of key financial concepts such as commitments, goods receipts, invoice matching, GR/IR reconciliation, accruals, and payment performance metrics.
