Accounts Payable Specialist

Knoxville, TN | Full-time, in-office | Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Pay: $25–$28 per hour, plus potential for monthly and quarterly bonuses

Do you enjoy bringing order to the details, solving problems, and helping things run smoothly? We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who takes pride in accurate work, communicates well with vendors and coworkers, and can keep payments moving on time.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help keep our accounts payable process accurate and organized by:

• Processing vendor invoices and reconciling vendor statements and prepaid accounts.
• Reviewing invoices, assigning account codes, and obtaining required approvals.
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and helping resolve discrepancies.
• Communicating with vendors by phone, email, and mail.
• Entering vendor credit notes and bank ACH debits into Infor.
• Processing accounts payable payments and customer refunds.
• Reviewing and validating company credit card statements.
• Preparing year-end 1099 forms.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of accounts payable experience.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong math, organization, communication, and data-entry skills.
• Ability to use computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs.
• Comfortable using AI tools
• Ability to commute to our Knoxville, TN office.

Preferred:

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two year college.
• Experience working with foreign currencies is a plus.
• Experience with Infor, Bill / Divvy, or other financial software.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.

Schedule and Work Environment: 

• This is a full-time, in-office position in Knoxville.
• The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• The role involves sitting or standing for extended periods, typing at least 40 words per minute, and occasionally bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
