Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team and lead commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through installation and final closeout. We are looking for someone with a strong background in commercial mechanical contracting and hands-on responsibility for project budgets, schedules, field operations, subcontractors, and client relationships.
This role is suited for a results-driven professional who can manage multiple aspects of project execution, resolve field challenges, control costs, and deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from initial planning and estimating handoff through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost projections, and labor plans to ensure timely and profitable project delivery.
- Coordinate our field personnel, along with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, to maintain productivity, quality, and jobsite safety.
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, and equipment selections to identify potential issues and address scope discrepancies.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, procurement activities, and project documentation throughout the construction process.
- Monitor job costs, labor hours, material expenses, and subcontractor costs, taking corrective action when projects fall outside budget.
- Maintain communication with general contractors, owners, engineers, inspectors, and our internal project teams.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, equipment deliveries, system startup, testing, and commissioning.
- Oversee punch lists, warranty documentation, project turnover, and final closeout activities.
