Lead the Future of Aircraft Maintenance
A leading regional airline is seeking an experienced General Manager – MRO to lead its Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) division. This executive leadership position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of all aircraft maintenance activities while driving operational excellence, engineering performance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, oversee regulatory compliance, manage budgets and resources, and ensure the airline's fleet continues to operate safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all MRO engineering and maintenance operations.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with CASA and company quality standards.
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities.
- Manage engineering budgets, capital expenditure and operational performance.
- Develop maintenance strategies that improve aircraft reliability, availability and operational efficiency.
- Lead engineering projects including fleet induction, maintenance improvements and infrastructure development.
- Manage engineering resources, workforce planning and succession development.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities including CASA and other aviation bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, cost optimisation and productivity enhancements.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Flight Operations, Finance, CAMO, Supply Chain and Executive Management.
- Lead audits, quality assurance and risk management activities within the MRO division.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years' aviation engineering experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership.
- Extensive experience managing aircraft maintenance within an airline or Part 145 MRO environment.
- Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) qualification or equivalent highly desirable.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations, safety management systems and quality management systems.
- Experience working with regulatory authorities such as CASA, EASA, FAA or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience managing large engineering teams, budgets and operational performance.
- Strong commercial awareness with proven leadership, strategic planning and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with turboprop aircraft maintenance is highly desirable.
