Description
Do you know what a patch note will do to a subreddit before the numbers come in? Do you have opinions on which studios get their communities right, and why? Are you ready to turn that instinct into strategy? This might be your first role in strategy.
What you'll do
You’ll help our video game clients understand their players and communities, and turn that understanding into content and social strategy. You’ll work closely with our senior gaming and content strategists, learning our strategic tools and methods along the way.
Main responsibilities
Follow gaming communities, creators, and platforms, and flag what matters for our clients
Support day-to-day social publishing, from content calendars to scheduling
Help with reactive comms: spot emerging conversations and issues early, and flag them to the team
Help pull social analytics for recurring reports, and learn what drives the numbers
Help track competitor games and launches
Support research and slides for client presentations
What we're looking for
You might have done an internship in social or community, run channels for a student society or esports team, moderated a community, made content, or modded. What matters most is that you live in gaming culture, have opinions on what works and what doesn’t, and are curious about player behavior beyond your own favorite genres.
Qualifications
Relevant school experience or prior internships in social media, community management, content, or research
Real involvement in gaming culture, and examples of your writing or analysis from school, an internship, or your own projects
Native fluency in Reddit, Discord, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, X, and Steam
An understanding of content formats, creators, and what performs in gaming, plus basic social analytics
Experience with social listening or publishing tools is a plus
Fluent in English; additional languages (including Swedish) are a plus
Eligibility to work in Sweden
Who we are and what we offer
Kurppa Hosk is a brand and communication agency with 200+ people in Stockholm, Oslo, New York and Chicago. We work with brave organizations, from early-stage start-ups to Zalando, Scania, Nike, Meta and Minecraft. We’re also a founding member of Eidra, a collective of specialist companies, so you’ll have management consultants, digital experts and product innovators down the hall.
You’ll get a personal coach, peer feedback on every project and courses in areas like AI and strategy. Benefits include 30 days’ vacation, a wellness allowance, private health insurance, an occupational pension, and a phone and laptop. You’ll work from our award-winning office at Grev Tureplan.
How to apply
Send us your resume and a short letter introducing your background. In it, cover two things:
Pick a game launch or update from last year. What did its community and social activity get right or wrong, and what would you have done differently?
Which gaming community do you know best? Tell us something about it that an outsider would miss.
Keep the letter to one A4 page at most. We’re reading for how you think, not how much you write — so give us your own thinking, in your own voice. We’d much rather read something genuinely yours than something perfectly polished by AI.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until November 6, 2026.
