HealthX is recruiting Personal Care Assistant (PCA’s) for casual opportunities across home care services in Brisbane South, Queensland.
This role is ideal for nursing students who have completed at least one year of clinical placement, preferably in acute, oncology or palliative areas, and are seeking flexible work while gaining hands‑on industry experience.

About the Role
As a Home Care Personal Care Assistant, you will support Registered Nurse and the wider Clinical Care Team in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred palliative care in the home setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living
- Provide direct patient care in patient homes with remote clinical oversight 24/7.
- Support mobility, transfers, pressure area care, oral and mouth cares
- Work collaboratively with families/carers and clinicians
- Maintain patient dignity, comfort, and safety at all times
- Follow clinical protocols, infection control standards, and documentation requirements
- Respond to unexpected patient deterioration appropriately
About You - What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Availability to work on a casual basis (minimum 4‑hour shifts)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including night shifts
- Certificate III in Health and/or Aged Care, OR
- Currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing (2nd or 3rd Year Students)
- Previous oncology or palliative placements
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centred care focus
