Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility in Edwardsville, Kansas. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with experience managing maintenance teams in a manufacturing setting, preferably within food production. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment while driving preventive maintenance initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and overall equipment effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability Management
Lead day-to-day maintenance operations to support uninterrupted production.
Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and asset performance.
Ensure all preventive maintenance activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and equipment-related issues.
Establish maintenance best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and increased operational efficiency.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide leadership, coaching, training, and development for maintenance personnel
Recruit, onboard, evaluate, and retain a high-performing maintenance team.
Manage employee performance, conduct reviews, and address disciplinary matters when necessary.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Assist technicians with troubleshooting difficult equipment and systems issues.
Planning & Administration
- Plan, prioritize, schedule, and assign maintenance activities to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Oversee the implementation, utilization, and continuous improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, work orders, and equipment histories.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, controlling maintenance costs while maintaining operational excellence.
- Manage parts procurement, vendor relationships, and spare parts inventory to support operational needs.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors and service providers performing maintenance or repair work.
Evaluate vendor performance and ensure work is completed safely, professionally, and in compliance with company standards.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, food safety requirements, and applicable environmental standards.
Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective action initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience leading maintenance teams.
Strong knowledge of:
Pumps, motors, valves, bearings, gears, and lubrication systems
Mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems
Preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Maintenance planning and scheduling
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
Preferred
Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Food manufacturing experience.
Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Continuous Improvement, or Reliability Maintenance experience.
Experience implementing and managing CMMS systems.
Work Environment
Approximately 90% of work is performed in a manufacturing environment and 10% in an office setting.
Must be able to work around industrial equipment, moving machinery, varying temperatures, and production-related conditions.
Position may require occasional overtime, emergency response, and some Saturday work to support production needs.

Occasional Saturdays and after-hours support as needed
