The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of critical enterprise digital capabilities supporting Plan Sponsor reporting, Plan Performance Insights (PPI), and secure digital access.
This role serves as the product owner for reporting and authentication capabilities used by plan sponsors, advisors, and internal business partners. The Senior Product Manager partners closely with Technology, Cybersecurity, Operations, Compliance, UX, and business stakeholders to define product strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver secure, scalable, client focused digital experiences.
The ideal candidate combines strong product management experience with analytical thinking, technical acumen, and the ability to lead cross functional teams in a highly regulated financial services environment.
What you will do
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Partner with leadership to define and execute key product initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for assigned capabilities, including Plan Sponsor reporting, Plan Performance Insights (PPI), authentication, and user access management.
Develop and maintain a prioritized roadmap that balances client needs, business priorities, operational improvements, regulatory requirements, and technical debt.
Define product vision, business value, success metrics, and key performance indicators for assigned capabilities.
Evaluate market trends, competitive offerings, client feedback, and industry insights to identify product opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate alternatives, align priorities, and optimize client outcomes.
Product Development & Delivery
Define and lead the scope of product development, driving end-to-end product capabilities and client experience.
Lead product discovery, planning, and execution across Agile teams.
Coordinate operational readiness, testing, release planning, launch activities, and production deployments with Product Deployment.
Partner with Product Deployment and Marketing to support client communications, market introductions, RFP content, sales collateral, and product documentation.
Lead post-implementation reviews and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, documentation, and knowledge management.
Reporting & Analytics
Lead the strategy and evolution of Plan Sponsor reporting and analytics capabilities.
Translate business requirements into product features that deliver accurate, consistent, and user-friendly reporting experiences.
Establish and monitor KPIs measuring product adoption, client value, operational effectiveness, product health, and business outcomes.
Leverage customer insights, analytics, and operational metrics to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
Authentication & Digital Access
Own authentication, digital identity, and user access capabilities supporting plan sponsors, advisors, and internal users.
Partner with Cybersecurity, Identity Management, Compliance, and Engineering to deliver secure, scalable, and seamless authentication experiences.
Drive enhancements for user provisioning, role-based access, authentication workflows, and future identity management initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance and an optimal client experience.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, UX, Product Deployment, Client Experience, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic product initiatives.
Collaborate with Empower intermediary home office teams to develop and implement enterprise initiatives.
Build alignment across business and technology organizations while balancing competing priorities.
Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and investment recommendations to executive leadership.
Develop strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure successful product delivery.
Product Performance & Business Management
Partner with Product segment leaders to improve P&L performance through market analysis, competitive insights, and product optimization.
Drive product adoption in partnership with Product Deployment, Sales, and Service teams.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, platform performance, client experience, and overall business outcomes.
Monitor product health, adoption, service levels, client satisfaction, and performance metrics.
Agile Product Ownership
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and Agile development teams by:
Providing a clear business vision and priorities to development teams.
Defining product epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Prioritizing and maintaining the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, technical dependencies, regulatory commitments, and roadmap priorities.
Ensuring development teams have the business context and direction needed to successfully deliver strategic product capabilities.
What you will bring
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7 - 10 years of experience in Product Management, Digital Product Development, or a related field.
Experience managing enterprise digital products throughout the product lifecycle.
Experience leading cross functional Agile teams.
Experience translating complex business requirements into product strategy and technical requirements.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across multiple organizations without direct authority.

Experience working in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or insurance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data driven decisions.
Experience supporting retirement plan administration, defined contribution recordkeeping, wealth management, or financial services platforms.
Experience with enterprise reporting platforms, business intelligence, or customer analytics.
Experience with authentication, identity and access management (IAM), single sign on (SSO), multi factor authentication (MFA), or user provisioning.
Experience working with APIs and enterprise integrations.
Experience with Figma, Jira, or similar Agile planning tools.
Experience partnering with Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture organizations.
Experience using customer insights and product analytics to drive product decisions.

Base Salary Range
$114,000.00 - $165,300.00The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
