Description
We are Engineered to Serve.
Tindall Corporation is a leading Precast Concrete Manufacturer, with locations throughout the Southeastern U.S. Our mission is to support our customers, create remarkable structures, and deliver never-before-seen solutions every step of the way.
Our employees enjoy benefits including:
Low Cost Employee Health plan, Dental, Vision, STD/LTD, Fully-paid Basic Life, Voluntary Life, Whole Life, Accident, Hospitalization, Critical Illness, EAP and a 401k Plan with Company Match & Profit Sharing.
- Maintain complete ownership and accountability for assigned precast concrete product lines from concept and design coordination through manufacturing, shipment, and continuous product improvement.
- Partner with Engineering during project development to ensure precast member designs incorporate manufacturing-friendly details, standardized connections, efficient reinforcement layouts, and practical production methods.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to optimize the selection and sourcing of concrete materials, reinforcement, embedded items, connection hardware, and outsourced fabricated components while balancing cost, quality, and availability.
- Lead initiatives to increase product standardization while maintaining the flexibility required to satisfy customer and project-specific requirements.
- Develop standardized product families, details, and manufacturing practices that reduce engineering variation and simplify production.
- Evaluate opportunities to increase the use of prefabricated reinforcement assemblies, custom welded wire reinforcement, and standardized reinforcement solutions to improve quality and reduce labor.
- Lead initiatives to optimize reinforcement designs, minimizing unnecessary complexity while maintaining structural performance and code compliance.
- Develop strategies to maximize the use of reusable formwork systems, including HDO plywood, composite plastic forms, steel forms, and modular forming systems, reducing reliance on single-use materials and minimizing form replacement costs.
- Work with Engineering and Operations to balance custom product requirements with standardized manufacturing practices that improve throughput and production efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary member variations, repetitive drawing revisions, and excessive detail sheet (D-sheet) development through product standardization and design simplification.
- Establish processes to recognize repetitive product characteristics beyond identical member marks, allowing similar products to utilize common manufacturing methods, reinforcement layouts, and formwork configurations.
- Partner with Purchasing to leverage bulk procurement opportunities for outsourced fabricated steel assemblies, embeds, lifting hardware, and commonly used production materials.
- Collaborate with Production Planning and Plant Operations to optimize casting schedules by minimizing form width and length changes, maximizing form reuse, reducing setup time, and improving production flow.
- Perform technical reviews of project specifications to ensure manufacturing processes appropriately satisfy customer requirements without unnecessary processing, excessive material usage, or over-engineering.
- Evaluate opportunities to standardize concrete mixes, reinforcement details, embedded components, finishes, and production methods while maintaining product performance and quality requirements.
- Analyze manufacturing data, labor performance, production costs, and product profitability to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on improving productivity, reducing waste, increasing manufacturing consistency, and enhancing overall product value.
- Develop and maintain product standards, manufacturing guidelines, design criteria, and best practices that can be implemented consistently across multiple precast manufacturing facilities.
- Benchmark industry best practices and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies, materials, and production methods that improve Tindall's competitive position while maintaining its commitment to quality and customer service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the precast concrete, structural concrete, or construction manufacturing industry.
- Thorough understanding of precast concrete manufacturing, reinforcement detailing, formwork systems, production planning, and construction practices.
- Experience working with Engineering, Estimating, Production, Purchasing, Operations, and Sales in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and product standardization.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, structural details, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent project management, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
