Description
About Us
STARK is a new kind of defence technology company, revolutionizing the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective. Our mission is to bolster the technological edge of NATO Allies and their partners to deter aggression and defend Europe.
About the team
Your mission
As a Project Management Intern, you are the "connective tissue" of our engineering and operations teams. Your mission is to support the Program Management Office (PMO) in making complex hardware and software programs move faster.
This is not a "coffee-fetching" internship. You will be at the organizational core of strategic defense programs, helping to translate engineering chaos into structured progress. You will support our Senior Program Managers in tracking milestones, unblocking engineers, and ensuring that communication flows smoothly across the company. This role is a testing ground: we are looking for high-potential talent who can prove themselves during this internship and transition into a permanent Junior Project Manager role.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Tracking
Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking project milestones and workstreams using tools like Jira and Confluence. Ensure that task statuses are up-to-date and deadlines are visible.
Meeting Excellence: Support the organization of cross-functional meetings. You will be responsible for capturing key decisions, tracking action items, and following up with owners to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Reporting: Help build and maintain project dashboards and status reports for leadership, providing a clear view of program health and risks.
Structure & Documentation
Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in our current workflows and work with the PMO to propose and implement leaner, more efficient processes.
Documentation: Ensure project documentation is structured, audit-ready, and easily accessible for engineering, production, and operations teams.
Resource Support: Assist in coordinating logistics between teams, such as ensuring hardware prototypes are ready for scheduled testing windows.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
Academic Path: Currently enrolled in or between a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration (with a strong technical affinity), Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Early Exposure: Previous internship experience in project management, consulting, or a fast-paced engineering environment is a significant advantage.
Technical Background & Skills
Tool Literacy: You are a quick study with software. Experience with Jira, Confluence, or advanced Excel/Google Sheets is highly valued.
Structure: You have a natural ability to organize information. You enjoy taking a messy list of problems and turning it into a prioritized plan.
Language: You are a clear and direct communicator in both English and German, comfortable interacting with both local technicians and international engineers.
Mindset & Working Style
Proactive "Doer": You don't wait for a manual. You see a gap and you fill it. You’d rather take initiative and ask for feedback than wait for permission.
High-Stakes Resilience: You are comfortable in a demanding, mission-driven environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
Versatile Multitasker: Possesses the ability to maintain clarity and drive progress while juggling a diverse and disparate range of tasks.
Security: Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (due to export control and security regulations).
