Job Summary
The Manager, Project Management is responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of Life and Health insurance products, product enhancements, and strategic business initiatives. Acting as a key representative of Life Operations within the Product Implementation Team (PIT) to drive successful project delivery, optimize operational processes, and ensure projects are implemented efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with business objectives. The incumbent will also lead and develop a team of project managers and business analysts while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Job
1. Project and Product Implementation Leadership
- Serve as the key representative of Life Operations within the Product Implementation Team (PIT).
- Lead and oversee the implementation of Life and Health insurance products, product enhancements, and related system initiatives across all distribution channels.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration among business, operations, IT, compliance, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure successful and timely project delivery.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, milestones, resources, timelines, dependencies, and budget requirements.
- Manage end-to-end project execution and governance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and organizational priorities.
- Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
2. Business Analysis and Solution Delivery
- Lead business analysis activities and facilitate the gathering, documentation, validation, and sign-off of business requirements.
- Review and challenge business requirements to ensure operational feasibility, efficiency, and compliance with existing business and system capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with project teams and stakeholders to define optimal implementation solutions and drive successful delivery.
- Oversee system implementation activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements and operational needs.
3. Stakeholder Management and Governance
- Chair project meetings and working sessions, driving effective decision-making, issue resolution, and action follow-up.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate project alignment and smooth implementation.
- Prepare and present project status reports, management updates, and executive-level presentations.
4. Team Leadership and Continuous Improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop junior project managers and team members to build project management capabilities within the team.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and customer-focused team culture.
- Identify opportunities to streamline product implementation processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery effectiveness and customer experience.
The Person
1. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Insurance, or a related discipline.
- Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile certification) is an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the Life Insurance industry with solid knowledge of insurance operations and product implementation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading product implementation, business transformation, or project management initiatives.
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience with a proven track record of leading and developing teams.
