Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Strategy Manager to join the Retail Services team within Consumer Banking & Lending (CBL). This is a product strategy leadership role focused on defining and evolving the Point-of-Sale Financing value proposition, product roadmap, merchant offering strategy, customer experience, and long-term portfolio growth. The role requires deep understanding of consumer lending, competitive dynamics, customer needs, customer journeys, product capabilities, and portfolio economics to identify and drive new growth opportunities. Successful candidates will be able to connect business strategy with customer experience and platform capabilities to develop innovative financing solutions that deliver value to consumers, merchants, and the business.
About this role:
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in product strategy, consumer lending, payments, cards, BNPL, retail financing, or adjacent financial services businesses who enjoy identifying market opportunities, evaluating customer journeys and product capabilities, developing business cases, influencing product direction, and driving growth through partnerships and innovation. This role is not primarily focused on agile delivery, backlog management, or technology execution.

In this role, you will:
Define and evolve the long-term product strategy for Point-of-Sale Financing capabilities and use cases.
Identify opportunities for portfolio growth through new customer experiences, product capabilities, merchant propositions, pricing strategies, and partnership models.
Conduct market, industry, competitive, and consumer research to identify emerging trends and inform strategic priorities.
Partner with Relationship Management teams to understand merchant needs and translate those insights into product strategy and roadmap recommendations.
Develop business cases and assess financial impact of new product features, capabilities, and investments.
Use consumer, merchant, and portfolio analytics to identify opportunities to improve acquisition, engagement, profitability, and retention.
Influence cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Risk, Analytics, Technology, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to execute strategic initiatives.
Monitor key portfolio performance indicators and recommend actions to improve growth and profitability.
Identify growth and expense optimization opportunities across all P&L levers, helping to drive and implement those opportunities in collaboration with cross functional teams
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Experience developing product strategy for consumer lending, credit card, BNPL, POS financing, installment lending, payments, or related financial services products.
Experience conducting competitive analysis, market assessments, and opportunity sizing to inform product investment decisions.
Ability to evaluate customer journeys, product capabilities, and supporting technology ecosystems to identify opportunities, shape product strategy, and influence future product investments.
Experience managing or influencing product P&L, portfolio economics, pricing strategy, or business performance outcomes.
Experience using data and analytical tools (e.g., Excel) to evaluate business performance, assess opportunities, and inform product strategy and investment decisions.
Experience partnering with sales, relationship management, or business development teams to identify and support growth opportunities.
Experience building executive-level presentations, strategic recommendations, and business cases.
Experience translating consumer, merchant, and market insights into product strategies and growth initiatives.
