This posting is for the Deputy District Attorney I-II classification levels and current salary range are as follows:
Deputy District Attorney I: $96,033.60 - $116,708.80 Annually
Deputy District Attorney II: $118,081.60 - 143,540.80 Annually
- Those who are awaiting the Bar exam results are eligible to apply. However, a job offer is contingent upon passing the Bar exam and licensure. A verification of CA State Bar licensure (a printout from the "Attorney Search" section of the California State Bar website is acceptable) is required by November 15, 2026.
- This position is open until filled and submitted applications will be reviewed on a regular basis. The applications of qualified individuals will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for additional consideration.
- In addition to filling the advertised vacancy, successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list that may be utilized to fill future vacancies as they occur.
- The District Attorney's Office participates in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Deputy District Attorney I
Experience: No experience required.
Licensure: Active membership in the State Bar of California.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in the practice of law; One (1) year of experience as an entry-level attorney in any county in the State of California or at least one (1) year of experience at a prosecutor's office in the United States.
License: Active membership in the State Bar of California.
Driver's License for all levels: Some positions in this classification may require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.
