Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a full-time Staff Accountant.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years related experience in general accounting.
• Familiarity with the operations of an educational institution preferred.
• Experience in Nonprofit Accounting and grant reimbursement preferred.
• Associate degree in accounting, business, or finance, preferred but not required with applicable experience.
• Self-starter, attention to detail, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in analyzing, reporting, and recording financial data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Indianapolis

Job Tasks:

• Track and allocate general and administrative costs to respective funds and entities.
• Record bank activity, deposits, transfers, payroll, and miscellaneous entries.
• Ensure receipts are coded in accordance with budgets.
• Coordinate local grant reconciliations and reimbursements.
• Assist with tracking and allocation of costs to respective grants, funds, and entities.
• Assist in preparation of required reporting to various grant awarding bodies.
• Filing all documentation as needed.
• Manage vendors and print annual 1099 tax forms.
• Prepare various reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Participate in month end process and functions.
• Assist in preparation of the annual budget, audit, and other compliance filings as needed.
• Pull reports or files as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the schools.
