Job Description Summary:
The Associate People Operations Partner is a member of Rocket Software’s Global People Services Team, providing a superb Rocketeer experience through responsive, high-quality day-to-day support to Rocketeers worldwide. Based in Pune, this role combines global helpdesk support, ownership of India new hire onboarding, accurate execution of transactional People processes, support to other People Centers of Excellence (COEs), and administrative support.As an early point of contact for People-related questions, the Associate People Operations Partner helps employees and managers navigate Rocket’s People policies, procedures, and self-service tools. The role is focused on operational excellence, data accuracy, and a positive Rocketeer experience, while supporting process improvement and scalability across the global People Operations function.

Based in Pune, this role combines global helpdesk support, ownership of India new hire onboarding, accurate execution of transactional People processes, support to other People Centers of Excellence (COEs), and administrative support.
As an early point of contact for People-related questions, the Associate People Operations Partner helps employees and managers navigate Rocket’s People policies, procedures, and self-service tools. The role is focused on operational excellence, data accuracy, and a positive Rocketeer experience, while supporting process improvement and scalability across the global People Operations function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Global Day-to-Day Rocketeer Support
- Serve as an early point of contact for Rocketeers globally, responding to People-related inquiries through the People Services helpdesk (email and Jira ticketing) on topics such as policy interpretation, Workday navigation, employment verification, and general People-related questions.
- Provide accurate, timely, and empathetic support, ensuring the Rocketeer experience is at the forefront of every interaction and escalating complex matters to regional People Operations Partners or relevant COEs as needed.
- Contribute to employee self-service by drafting and maintaining how-to guides, knowledge articles, and FAQs that make People information easy to find and use. Support the continual improvement of the Rocket People Hub (SharePoint) internal site.
India New Hire Onboarding
- Coordinate the end-to-end new hire onboarding experience for India, ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and compliant start for every new Rocketeer.
- Prepare and process onboarding documentation, process and track pre-hire background verifications, collect and verify new hire information, and ensure accurate and timely setup in Workday and related People systems.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, IT, Payroll, and local stakeholders to coordinate pre-boarding, day-one logistics, induction, and required new hire compliance steps for India.
- Collaborate with People Operations Partner (India) to maintain and continuously improve India onboarding checklists, templates, and communications to enhance consistency and the new hire experience.
Transactional People Operations
- Execute transactional lifecycle changes for APJ employees accurately and on time, including Workday data updates, leave updates, ad-hoc reporting requests, etc. within assigned scope.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data in Workday and other People systems, and support the maintenance and audit of digital employee files.
People COE (Center of Excellence) Support
- Provide day-to-day operational support to other People COEs (e.g. Total Rewards, Payroll, HRIS) as assigned, including helping respond to inquiries and routing complex questions to COE specialists.
- Proactively escalates “hot topics” in raised questions/tickets and shares them with Services leadership.
- Support benefits administration tasks such as documentation gathering, audits, data tracking, enrollment support, etc.as required.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Submit and track purchase orders (POs) for the different People COE’s, coordinating with Procurement, Finance, and vendors to ensure timely processing and accurate records.
- Support invoice tracking, vendor coordination, and general administrative tasks that keep People Operations running smoothly.
- Support ad hoc People Operations and People Services projects as assigned by the Senior Manager, People Operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an HR, People Operations, or shared-services / helpdesk support role, ideally in an international setting.
- Experience with Workday (or a similar HRIS) for data entry, processing, and reporting preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR administration practices and an awareness of India HR and onboarding compliance requirements; broader APJ experience a plus.
- Proficiency with Jira or a similar ticketing system preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a strong customer-centric approach.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- A proactive, service-oriented mindset with an interest in process improvement and automation.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, or related field
Travel Requirements:
<5% Minimal, infrequent travel
