M&A Analyst

Introduction to the job

This is an exciting role for you to start your career as an M&A Analyst in Veldhoven with ASML. You will be part of a small team comprising the Head of M&A and two senior transaction managers. The role will support key activities across the entire transaction lifecycle related to possible mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic investments. The ideal candidate will apply strategic, analytical, and transactional skills to support the identification and execution of growth opportunities across ASML.

Role and responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth market, industry, and competitor assessments to identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets consistent with ASML’s strategic priorities.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models & valuation analyses to evaluate transactions (DCF, comparable company analysis and precedent transactions).
• Coordinate and support end‑to‑end due diligence activities across all ASML functions involved in the transaction process.
• Assist in managing deal execution processes including timelines, coordination with advisors and documentation
• Ensure consistency and alignment throughout the M&A lifecycle by supporting each step of the process, and integrating insights from business leaders, corporate functions, and external advisors.

Education and experience

• You have 0 - 2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, management consulting or similar M&A or strategic partnership roles.
• You have an undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar required. Graduate degree preferred.

• You have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities with attention to detail and strong understanding of corporate finance, financial statements, valuation techniques and financial modeling (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions).
• You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create concise reports and presentations.
• You have advanced Excel skills and proficiency in PowerPoint and word.
• You have excellent analytical and problem structuring skills and the ability to go into detail when the situation requires to do so.
• You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team, self-starter with a high degree of motivation, reliability, and personal initiative.
• Experience with financial databases (e.g., Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, Pitchbook)
