Our Capsules & Health Ingredients business unit is the trusted partner and market leader in innovative capsules, dosage forms, and health ingredients for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies.
In this role you are expected to design and implement Capsugel’s decarbonization and Climate strategy, aligning with SBTi new requirements (Corporate draft expected to be updated in 2025) and in line with internal and external stakeholder expectations.
Define, update and drive a global Climate Transition program (own Operations and Procurement), driving initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, water consumption etc. across the supply chain, align sourcing strategies with net-zero targets, and ensure compliance with climate-related regulations and customer/ investor requirements. Define targets, key milestones and deliverables of Decarbonization Program to reduce the Scope 1,2 and 3 Carbon Footprint. Recommend decarbonization targets for Capsugel, aligned with SBTi requirements.
The role is based in Colmar.
What you will do
Scope 1.2
Understand decarbonization levers and maintain a Capsugel level roadmap against SBTi targets and progress
Coordinate with regional sites and integrate site roadmaps (including impact and CAPEX) to SBTi roadmap
Scope 3
Manage Supplier Decarbonization reduction plans for 4000 active Vendors and 500Mio of Spend globally.
Ensure procurement professionals are trained and suppliers informed. Develop and update enablement material as needed to drive engagement and progress against annual targets
Represent Lonza in external industrial bodies to foster knowledge exchange and best practice in the Supplier Decarbonization field
Responsible for providing Scope 3 data for disclosure to external stakeholders, rating companies, integrated report
Develop governance model & coordinate with internal key Stakeholders
Develop and update policies, define if needed, benchmark and recommend digital reporting (data from platform, internal data), integrate Scope 3 within procurement processes
Define and establish due diligence plan for validation and verification steps of supplier carbon footprint data
Support procurement in following up with suppliers as appropriate to secure responses
Assess carbon footprint data quality and follow up with suppliers to resolve data questions, inconsistencies in order to verify the data
Collaborate and manage sustainability information flow for EHS and GRI, annual report, internet / intranet, reports, social media, management presentations
Receive information from the sources / sites, checking and proofreading, cleansing the database, creating reports and presentations. Maintain a regular reporting cycle and contributing to the supply chain responsibility part of the Annual Sustainability report
What we are looking for
Master’s degree in the field of Material science, Chemistry, Environmental science or other technical field; MBA or other equivalent professional experience
English fluent, French an asset
Experience in defining and implementing decarbonization roadmaps
Experience in Project management
Experience in Data and LCA modeling
The full-time annual base salary range for this position base in France is expected to range between 60’000 EUR and 84’000 EUR. Initial salary placement within this range will be determined based on role related factors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.
