Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Office Assistant in Occupational Health at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift
Position Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
Standard Working Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Overview
Perform a variety of administrative tasks aimed to optimize the time and performance of a manager or employees of a department. Tasks may involve acting as a first point of contact, dealing with correspondence and phone calls, managing diaries, organizing meetings and appointments, preparing documents or reports, and controlling access to the manager or the department. May involve dealing with confidential information. Will be a Divisional Shared Resource who supports managers and departmental teams.
This role will answer the telephone and assist callers or those making varied inquiries by email or mail with any requests for information, directing more complex matters to colleagues as necessary. Use standard office software to carry out basic formatting of letters, memoranda, and routine reports. Open and distribute mail and use form letters or emails to respond to routine requests. Conduct data entry into company systems, and review and verify the information to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Maintain appointment calendars and reserve meeting rooms, following detailed instructions to arrange business meetings efficiently. Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities. May include other job duties as assigned.
Education
High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
Experience
Excellent Customer Service (Preferred)
Experience with performing basic office skills to include data entry tasks, filing, photocopying, emails, etc. (Preferred)
Experience with Inventory and Ordering Supplies (Preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite using Excel, Word, and Outlook (Preferred)
