Position Purpose:This position is part of the Assurance & Advisory Management Program (AMP). This is a two-year leadership development program where you will work on a variety of business needs with a focus on merchandising, marketing, and ecommerce. Upon completion of the program, 75% of the associates will graduate to other departments while 25% will continue to advance within the department.
Major Purpose:
The AMP Senior Manager, Merchandising is responsible for developing and executing multiple, concurrent projects across the merchandising functions (Merchandising, Marketing, Ecommerce, Merchandising Services) including originating risk-based project opportunities, establishing scopes and timelines, managing stakeholder relationships, overseeing staffing, and reporting out results to executive management through written and verbal communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- 20% Own relationships with business leaders throughout the organization including identifying key stakeholders and developing and maintaining relationships with them
- 15% Develop and maintain thorough understanding of key retail processes in merchandising, marketing and online business units; own risk assessment for these areas including identifying and prioritizing key risks
- 15% Develop pipeline of projects consisting of defined risk management and process improvement opportunities in merchandising, marketing and online business units
- Lead report-outs of results to business owners and executive management including CFO/CEO as required
- 15% Manage scope, objectives and resources of multiple projects concurrently to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality results
- Create effective written communications to report results to business owners and executive management including the CFO/CEO and Board of Directors
- 15% Design tests and analytics to identify and quantify specific process improvement opportunities including cost-out and risk mitigation
- Develop talent by supporting the recruitment of strong candidates, leading training courses and providing on-the-job coaching to managers and staff associates
- 20% Lead change management for all project teams including establishing a vision for the change, building alignment with key business partners and establishing implementation plans that mitigate challenges and ensure sustainability of results
- Provide performance feedback/career counseling for direct reports on a consistent basis

- Position reports to AMP Director

Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Limited overnight travel of up to 10% or as job requires
- Prior Six Sigma, auditing or consulting experience a plus; Process Improvement background
- Prior retail experience a plus
- Prior supervisory experience required including providing performance feedback
- Project management experience required
