Description
Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, bringing together the world’s leading risk takers to advance global progress.
Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market — while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we are proud of.
How we deliver this, matters. We take the risk, make things happen, and own the outcome — working together across our global network to turn insight into impact.
Business Manager, Office of the CFO
Make the market better. It starts with you.
Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. We bring together leading risk takers to advance global progress.
We’re looking for a Business Manager, Office of the CFO to help turn Finance priorities into action. Based in London, you’ll work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance Leadership Team to support strategic delivery, effective governance, and clear decision-making across the function.
This is a role for someone who can bring structure, pace and judgement to a complex environment. You’ll connect people, priorities and decisions, helping the CFO focus on the work that matters most.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be a trusted partner to the CFO, providing high-quality executive support, operational leadership and strategic coordination.
You’ll help manage the business rhythm for Finance, support leadership meetings, track actions, prepare briefings, and make sure priorities move forward.
You’ll also play an important role in governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement, making sure the right people have the right information at the right time.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Support Finance business planning, tracking progress against key priorities, milestones and objectives.
- Coordinate the Finance Leadership Team’s meetings, priorities, actions and follow-ups.
- Oversee governance activity, including ExCo, Board, Council and committee actions.
- Prepare clear briefings, reports, presentations and communications for internal and external audiences.
- Build trusted relationships across the Corporation and the Lloyd’s market.
- Lead or coordinate cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of the CFO.
- Support risk, compliance and regulatory coordination so key commitments are met.
- Turn complex information into clear insight and practical recommendations.
- Find better ways of working across Finance, helping the function operate with focus and pace.
What you’ll bring
You’ll bring sound judgement, strong organisation and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders. You’ll know how to balance detail with the bigger picture.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Communicate clearly, with diplomacy, discretion and care.
- Build strong relationships at all levels, including senior leaders and external stakeholders.
- Influence well, find common ground and keep work moving.
- Stay organised while managing competing deadlines and priorities.
- Work confidently with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Support strategic planning and help turn priorities into clear actions.
- Solve problems in a practical, creative and balanced way.
- Contribute to an inclusive, high-performing culture.
You may have experience supporting a Director, Senior Executive or Head of Function. You may also have worked in financial services, insurance, asset management, governance, operations, strategy or an analytical function.
Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex environment where trust, clarity and follow-through matter.
How you’ll make an impact
This role sits at the centre of Finance. You’ll help create alignment, improve decision-making and support delivery of the CFO’s agenda.
You’ll bring openness by connecting ideas, people and priorities. You’ll bring focus by making sure the most important work gets attention. You’ll bring integrity through clear governance and trusted relationships. And you’ll bring empowerment by helping leaders and teams act with confidence.
Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.
We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.
We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.
We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.
We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
