Position Description

PingWind is seeking an Configuration Management Specialist II  who will provide technical, analytical, and lifecycle support to the Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems Division (MEWSD) for critical U.S. Navy Electromagnetic Warfare (EW), Decoy, and Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) systems. This role supports cradle-to-grave activities, including engineering, technology transition, installation, logistics, product support, test and evaluation, sustainment, maintenance, and repair. The Configuration Management Specialist II will integrate logistics, data science, reliability and maintainability engineering, and operations research to analyze and model complex systems, improve operational availability, and support data-driven decisions. This position directly contributes to optimizing warfighting capability, system readiness, reliability, and lifecycle performance while balancing mission requirements, performance, and cost.

Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
•    Manage and control hardware, software, technical documentation, product releases, and configuration records throughout the system lifecycle.
•    Establish, maintain, and enforce Configuration Management (CM) processes, procedures, standards, and controls.
•    Maintain accurate configuration records to ensure the integrity, traceability, accountability, and control of system components and documentation.
•    Support hardware and software configuration identification, status accounting, verification, and auditing activities.
•    Coordinate and track configuration changes, engineering changes, product updates, and software releases from initiation through approval and implementation.
•    Work closely with the Configuration Control Board (CCB) to evaluate, document, approve, prioritize, and implement proposed configuration changes.
•    Develop and implement procedures for the controlled release of new and modified products throughout the entire lifecycle.
•    Provide change management and product configuration management guidance to program, engineering, logistics, and technical teams.
•    Maintain configuration baselines and ensure approved changes are accurately reflected in technical documentation, hardware inventories, software configurations, and associated records.
•    Monitor configuration activities to identify and resolve discrepancies, unauthorized changes, and configuration control issues.
•    Support configuration reviews and audits to verify that delivered products and systems conform to approved requirements, specifications, and established baselines.
•    Prepare and maintain configuration status reports, change records, release documentation, and other CM documentation to support program oversight and decision-making.
