Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Residential Shelter in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelters. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with residents and visitors, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a residential location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of residential buildings, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrol observations, and security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
