About This Unit

Our 48-bed Ortho/Neuro/Trauma unit cares for patients recovering from joint replacements, spinal surgeries, fractures, stroke, and traumatic injuries. As a Stroke and Trauma Certified unit, we invest in ongoing specialty education to ensure the highest quality care.

 

Our multidisciplinary team includes nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, case managers, and orthopedic care coordinators who work together in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

 

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a motivated nurse leader who is passionate about developing teams, delivering exceptional patient care, and driving clinical excellence.

 

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Strong clinical experience in Med Surg, Ortho, Neuro, Trauma, or Progressive Care
• Previous leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, or Assistant Nurse Manager
• A collaborative leadership style with strong coaching and communication skills
• A commitment to quality, patient safety, and team member engagement

 

As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you'll partner with the Nurse Manager to lead daily operations, support team development, and help shape a culture where patients and team members thrive.

 

Scope of work

Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
• Two years of clinical experience Required.
• Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital, or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
