Description
The Snapshot
You'd be joining the newest venture from an established Australian group that's spent over a decade helping Australian homeowners switch to solar power and battery storage, building a genuinely well-regarded, direct-to-homeowner sales and installation business along the way. Earlier this year, the same founders launched a second business: a home water filtration company, bringing that same direct sales approach to helping Australian families access clean, safe water.
This is a foundational hire: you'd work directly with the founders, setting up the systems, scripts and processes the sales team will run on, while also personally closing deals and building out your own team underneath you. It's a builder's role for someone who's done this before and knows what good looks like.
This role is based in the Philippines and offers a hybrid work arrangement, with office-based work at the client's PH shared office in Cebu.
What You'll Actually Do
Sales team setup & infrastructure
- Design and build the offshore sales operation from scratch: CRM configuration, telephony and dialler systems, reporting infrastructure, sales scripts, objection-handling frameworks and closing processes
- Map out the end-to-end sales process, from lead receipt and first contact through to consultation, proposal, follow-up and close, so every stage is clearly defined, documented and measurable
- Help define KPIs across the sales function and build a reporting cadence that gives the Australian leadership team real-time visibility over activity, pipeline health and revenue
Personal sales performance
- Actively convert leads and close sales yourself while the team is being built, setting the standard the rest of the team will be measured against
- Lead by example on product knowledge, call quality, objection handling and follow-up discipline. In the early stages, the founders will handle final closing alongside you while you ramp up on product and process, with a plan to hand this fully over to you as that knowledge builds
Team recruitment, development & performance
- Help select, onboard and train your own sales squad (typically three to five people), working alongside an external recruitment team to bring the right people in
- Run regular performance reviews, give direct and constructive coaching, and address underperformance promptly
- Scale the team over time as the business grows, without letting quality slip as headcount increases
Liaison & stakeholder reporting
- Act as the main point of contact between the offshore sales team and the Australian leadership team
- Provide regular, structured reporting on team performance, pipeline conversion, revenue outcomes, and any issues that need escalating
- Translate Australian business priorities into clear, practical direction for the offshore team
Process optimisation & growth
- Continuously refine the sales process, scripts and workflows based on performance data and customer feedback
- Spot opportunities to lift conversion rates, cut drop-off and grow average deal value
What You Need to Bring
- Demonstrated experience building a sales team from scratch, including setting up CRM, telephony, scripts, reporting and KPI infrastructure. This is non-negotiable, and you should be able to speak to specific examples
- A strong personal sales track record with proven ability to convert in a direct sales environment, ideally within home services, home improvement, or a consultative B2C model
- Proven experience managing and developing a sales team, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and coaching, with measurable outcomes
- Solid CRM proficiency and comfort working in a tech-integrated sales environment (dialler systems, reporting dashboards, sales enablement tools)
- Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to brief an overseas leadership team clearly and concisely on performance and pipeline health
Nice to Have
- Background in B2C sales, water filtration, home water solutions, or a closely related field. This is a strong advantage and will be weighted heavily
- Experience managing offshore or remote sales teams, including the added complexity of cross-timezone coordination
- Experience selling into the Australian residential market, with an understanding of Australian consumer behaviour and expectations
- Exposure to sales methodology and scripting frameworks, including objection handling and structured closing techniques for a considered purchase
The Setup
- Philippines-based candidates only
- Full-time, with hours aligned to Australian business hours (exact schedule to be confirmed)
- Hybrid arrangement based out of the client's PH shared office; in-office days and frequency are still being finalised and will be confirmed with you before you start
What's In It for You
A genuine ground-floor opportunity: you'd be building this sales function from day one, with real ownership over how it's shaped, not stepping into someone else's system. The founders are hands-on and invested, and you'd be trusted to lead, not micromanaged.
On top of that, Staffstream looks after you properly:
- HMO health cover, with one dependent covered for free
- Group life insurance
- Paid leave credits
- Equipment provided
You're employed compliantly under Philippine law: a proper local employment contract, your taxes handled correctly, and all your government-mandated benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) plus 13th month pay. That means real security and peace of mind, not a loose freelance arrangement. Everything is above board and looked after for you.
How This Works
You'd be employed directly by Staffstream, not by the client. We place you with an Australian business and support you the whole way, handling the local employment side properly so you can focus on the work in front of you.
