The District is recruiting for an part-time Human Resources Assistant for the Fresno office to perform a variety of clerical HR duties. The incumbent will work approximately 20 hours per week. The eligible list established as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and may also be used to fill future vacancies in the Fresno office.
The individual will independently perform a variety of office support duties. Typical duties include: receiving and screening phone calls; purchasing and supply requests; ; copying and gathering materials; email correspondence, reports, forms, and specialized documents; proofreading for accuracy and completeness including grammar, punctuation, and spelling; maintaining and updating records; entering, editing, and retrieving data; preparing periodic and special reports; processing forms; and developing and maintaining office filing systems.
This classification requires graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent, two (2) years of general clerical experience and the skill to accurately type 40 net words per minute. Human Resources experience desirable.
Qualified applicants must possess knowledge of: office practices and procedures, including filing and the operation of standard office equipment; proper telephone etiquette; business letter writing and the standard format for typed materials; basic business data processing principles; correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation; business arithmetic; basic record keeping principles and practices; and skill in: performing detailed office support work accurately; using Microsoft Word or personal computing equipment; composing routine correspondence from brief instructions; using initiative and sound independent judgment within established guidelines; setting work priorities and coordinating several activities; organizing and maintaining accurate files and records; making accurate arithmetic calculations; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; and understanding and carrying out verbal and written directions.
When applicable, a valid California Drivers License or the ability to obtain one upon hire. Must be able to attend work on a daily basis as scheduled.
