Process Engineer / Production Manager

Blue Core is a growing manufacturer of high-quality marine upholstery and components. We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer / Production Manager to lead the front end of our manufacturing operation, including CNC routing, plastic and foam processing and assembly, quality control, and staging completed components for upholstery.

This role will lead approximately 10 production employees and have direct ownership of production performance, quality, and process improvement within the department. We are looking for a natural leader who can create urgency, hold people accountable, solve problems, and continuously improve how work moves through the facility.

This is not a desk-only engineering role. The successful candidate will spend significant time on the production floor working directly with the team and taking ownership of day-to-day execution.

What You’ll Do

• Lead approximately 10 employees across CNC routing, plastic cutting and assembly, foam cutting and assembly, quality control, and staging
• Translate the overall production and shipping schedule into daily and weekly production priorities
• Monitor production throughout the shift and ensure the department stays on schedule
• Identify bottlenecks, schedule risks, material shortages, equipment issues, and other production constraints before they impact downstream operations
• Reallocate employees and resources as needed to keep production moving
• Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for production and quality standards
• Coordinate closely with the upholstery team to ensure completed components are staged and ready when needed
• Oversee quality throughout the manufacturing process and ensure defects are identified before components move downstream
• Establish quality checkpoints and reduce rework, defects, and scrap
• Investigate recurring production and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Evaluate workflows, workstation layouts, material flow, and production processes to improve efficiency and throughput
• Develop standardized work procedures and measurable production targets
• Partner with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability and support continued growth
• Coach and develop employees while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional manufacturing environment

What We’re Looking For

• Manufacturing leadership experience
• Background in process engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, production management, or a related field
• Experience leading production employees and driving a production schedule
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to create urgency and accountability
• Strong process-improvement and problem-solving skills
• Quality-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Experience identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, workflow, and production planning
• Ability to prioritize and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on mentality and willingness to spend significant time on the production floor
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Spanish-speaking ability strongly preferred

Experience with CNC routing, plastics, foam fabrication, upholstery manufacturing, marine manufacturing, or similar fabrication environments is a plus.
