Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, managing maintenance schedules, overseeing less-experienced associates, and coordinating with contractors and suppliers. The position requires adherence to safety and regulatory standards while supporting operational efficiency and quality. The Senior Technician also provides hands-on training, documents activities, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts, ensuring all work meets company policies and industry requirements.
About the team:
The Facility Services General Maintenance team ensures the safety, functionality, and upkeep of Walmart stores and facilities through routine preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This team applies multiple craft skills to diagnose and resolve equipment and facility issues, supports training and development of associates, and manages maintenance schedules and resources efficiently. They collaborate closely with suppliers and contractors to maintain quality standards and compliance with regulations. Focused on operational excellence, the team plays a vital role in sustaining store environments that support business goals and deliver a safe, reliable experience for customers and associates alike.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures to ensure safety and functionality.
- Inspect, diagnose, and document signs of wear, recommending repairs or replacements to prevent future issues.
- Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to complete maintenance tasks.
- Lead and mentor less-experienced associates, providing hands-on training and overseeing work quality.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor relationships to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and code requirements while supporting company policies and values.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Ability to diagnose issues utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs, and to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards, ensuring compliance in all maintenance activities.
- Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor coordination to support operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to oversee projects, mentor associates, and deliver hands-on training.
- Capability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles in accordance with policies.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 6 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
