Technical Sales - Adhesives & Sealants
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to drive the growth and market presence of a newly launched adhesives, sealants, and fillers product range in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing market share, identifying and developing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, providing technical product support and expertise, and establishing the brand as a trusted and competitive solution within the trade sector. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical and commercial background, along with a proven track record in technical sales and business development.
Skills & Responsibilities:
Brand Growth & Market Share:
- Develop and execute strategies to grow sales and increase market share
- Identify opportunities to win business from competing brands
- Expand distribution across hardware, paint, building materials, and DIY channels
- Support the establishment of the brand as a recognised industry leader
Technical Expertise:
- Act as the technical specialist for the product range
- Provide product recommendations, application guidance, and troubleshooting support
- Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and customer presentations
- Assist customers in selecting suitable products for specific applications
- Support product testing and on-site evaluations where required
Business Development:
- Identify and secure new customers and distribution partners
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the adhesives, sealants, fillers, or construction chemicals industry
- Proven sales experience within the trade sector
- Strong technical understanding of adhesive and sealant products and their applications
- Existing relationships within hardware, paint, building materials, or distribution channels advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel nationally and/or internationally if required
