OB/GYN details

• OB/GYN providers must be able to obtain privileges at ECU Health North Hospital (formerly Halifax Regional Medical Center) in Roanoke Rapids.
• The clinic (1381 Medical Center Drive) is located adjacent to ECU North Hospital: https://goo.gl/maps/XNmxHXkTdjcyhNoL7
• Rural Health Group is a separate organization from the hospital – our OB/GYNs have privileges and call there, but it is not a hospital practice. The organization is a 501(c)3 private corporation with a patient-majority board of directors and designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center.
• OB/GYNs have one day per week surgery, the rest in outpatient clinic, with four hours of designated administrative time per week. The OB/GYN typically sees 20 patients per day in the outpatient clinic.
• The mix of patients (OB vs GYN) fluctuates based on demand/referrals. Deliveries are approximately 25-30 per month for the group. GYN procedures vary based on referrals – we accept patients from internal and external providers. Clinic days are allocated for GYN care and procedures. Procedure appointments are 30 – 60 minutes.
• This is a rural, underserved community so there are a number of high risk patients for both OB and GYN
• The call schedule will most likely be 1:2 weekdays (8a Mon – 5p Fri) and 1:4 weekends (5p Fri – 8a Mon).  The goal is to extend the call rotation to 1:3 weekdays and 1:4 weekends.
• Office Staff: RNs/LPNs in the office, RN Case Manager, sonographer, RN Clinical Practice Manager, front desk staff and billing staff
• Board certification (or board-eligible if resident) and BLS required; NRP is required for hospital privileges
• The hospital does not have DaVinci at this time.
• Rural Health Group uses eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR, the hospital uses EPIC (experience with one or both is a plus, but not required)

• 15 FM/IM primary care offices, OB/GYN office, Pediatrics office, and School Based Health Center Program [Outpatient only FM/IM; OB/GYN & PEDS have hospital privileges and call]
• 3 dental offices [general dentistry/all ages]
• 4 in-house pharmacies, 340b pharmacy program
• Integrated Behavioral Health [Psychologists and LCSWs]
• Case Management, Care Managers
• Community-Based Outreach Program: Migrant/Seasonal Farm Worker, Health Education, Insurance Outreach
  In addition to OB/GYN, our Providers include: Family Physician, Internist, IM/Ped, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, CNM, Pediatrician, Dentist, Clinical Pharmacist, Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Workers

As a Community Health Center, we see anyone - all ages, all backgrounds – with special emphasis on the underserved. We serve people of all insurance statuses: Medicare, NC Medicaid, NC Health Choice, private insurance, and the uninsured.We seek providers committed to a rural practice with the desire to establish roots in the community. 

Compensation: W2 preferred; 1099 model considered case-by-case.

• Base Salary: The starting salary is negotiable, with a minimum base of $350,000, which can be increased based on experience and qualifications.
• Annual 2% COLA + 1% bonus.
• Call Stipend: $50,000/year.
• Signing Bonus: $40,000–$60,000.
• Up to $2,500/month can be taken from the signing bonus early and applied as a residency stipend.
• Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 in-state and up to $10,000 out-of-state.

Benefits: Regular, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive group insurance plans.

• RHG pays a significant portion of the “employee only” premium for medical insurance coverage for eligible employees who elect that coverage. RHG also pays all or a significant portion of “employee only” dental and/or vision premiums. 
• Ancillary policies RHG offers include: short term and long term disability, term and whole life insurance, several AFLAC policies
• Malpractice via Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).
• PTO: 26 days in year, 1 self-care day, 1 personal day + 8 federal holidays
• CME: 5 days + $3,000 allowance (reimbursement for license, dues, and subscriptions comes from the CME allowance).
• 403(b) retirement account with employer contributions beginning at hire
• Additional Incentives: Student loan assistance via Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
• Professional fees and dues are reimbursed
• Our provider positions qualify for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholars, Loan Repayment Program (LRP), and Students to Service (S2S). [2025 HPSA Score = 22]
• No outstanding medical student loans? Ask us about a potential state high needs service bonus option.
