Context

Currently, we are bidding for the Project Management Services of a metro project in its operation & maintenance phase in Riyadh. The position of Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment Expert is a key position in this opportunity. Potential start date is January 2026.

 

You will provide subject matter expertise in the management, maintenance, and optimization of metro rolling stock and depot equipment within the Project Management Services (PMS) scope of the O&M contract. The Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment Expert ensures all related assets are operated, maintained, and managed to deliver high safety, reliability, availability, and efficiency standards in compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.

Missions/Main Duties

• Must be able to oversee all Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment Maintenance activities and verify that it is being carried out safely and to the passengers and the Employer’s satisfaction
• Responsible for measuring O&M Contractors performance, must be capable of evaluating and adjusting performance where and when required
• Overseeing the O&M Contractor’s mobilization and including sub-contractors (e.g. Transit Systems Suppliers) Reviewing the O&M Contractor’s submissions; asset and maintenance plans, procedures, instructions.
• Overseeing the coordination of the O&M Contractors with the DB Contractors. Must be able to advise on the asset management strategy

Profile/Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Railway Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience managing rolling stock and depot equipment, with at least 5 years at a senior technical or supervisory level in metro, rail, or light rail systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of rolling stock systems (traction, braking, HVAC, doors, onboard electronics) and depot equipment technologies.
• Strong experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS), reliability engineering, and asset performance monitoring.
• Proven track record in delivering technical solutions and performance improvements for rail vehicle fleets and depot infrastructure.
• Experience with contract management and working with OEMs, suppliers, and third-party maintenance providers.
• Familiarity with international rail standards and regulations (EN, UIC, IEC, ISO).
• Previous work experience in the Middle East/GCC is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.
