Mandatory Key Technical expertise
In depth knowledge on technical components of Temenos Stack of WAS in TAFC & TAFJ with Oracle DB
- In depth knowledge in Setting up TOCFEE, MQ, MDB in IBM WAS liberty for Temenos Transact.
- In depth knowledge in Setting up Jboss set-up for IRIS components. Should have JBoss hands on experience and should know deep knowledge to set-up from scratch.
- Working and troubleshooting skills in the Interface Layer involving TOCFEE, TCServer, IRIS components of Temenos
- The candidate must be familiar with Oracle configuration and optimisation practices recommended for Temenos implementations and be able to work with DBAs to ensure performance, scalability and stability of the Temenos platform across UAT and Production.
- Knowledge on AIX 7.2 to support Temenos Transact
- Knowledge on File Systems like GPFS in Multi Server setup on a Cluster Environment.

Job Summary

Our client is  seeking an experienced Temenos T24 Administrator to join the Core Banking Support team in a banking environment in Fujairah, UAE. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Temenos core banking applications across Production, UAT, Staging, Development, and Disaster Recovery environments.

The role requires in-depth technical expertise in the Temenos application stack, including TAFC, TAFJ, Oracle Database, IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Liberty, JBoss, TOCFEE, IRIS, MQ, and TCServer. The successful candidate will take ownership of application stability, production support, middleware administration, incident management, batch processing, and release coordination to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of the bank's core banking platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production and UAT Support

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Temenos Transact (T24) application components across Production, UAT, Development, Staging, Pre-Production, and Disaster Recovery environments.
• Perform routine system health checks, service availability checks, application monitoring, and batch/job monitoring.
• Support development teams in setting up and maintaining Development, UAT, and Staging environments.
• Troubleshoot issues across the application, browser, middleware, database, file system, interface, and messaging layers.
• Monitor and coordinate application backups, data restoration, binary backups, and data archiving activities.

2. Incident and Problem Management

• Investigate and resolve application and integration failures involving Temenos Core, IRIS, TOCFEE, WebMethods adapters, MQ, GPFS or equivalent file systems, and Oracle Database.
• Identify root causes of interface failures, batch processing issues, middleware errors, data synchronization problems, and service disruptions.
• Provide technical guidance to support, development, infrastructure, and database teams during critical incidents.
• Take ownership of Temenos-related incidents and coordinate with internal teams and Temenos vendor support for timely resolution.
• Maintain incident records and contribute to problem management and preventive measures.

3. Temenos Application and Middleware Administration

• Administer and troubleshoot Temenos application components deployed on IBM WebSphere Application Server, including Liberty, JBoss, and Software AG/WebMethods integration adapters.
• Configure and maintain TOCFEE, MQ, and MDB components within the IBM WAS Liberty environment.
• Perform JBoss installation, configuration, and setup for IRIS components, including deployment and troubleshooting.
• Monitor JVM utilization, application logs, connection pools, MQ queues and channels, connection timeouts, and application locking issues.
• Troubleshoot interface-layer components, including TOCFEE, TCServer, IRIS, and associated integration services.
• Work with middleware teams to maintain reliable message delivery, error handling, retry mechanisms, and recovery procedures.

4. Oracle Database and Infrastructure Support

• Work closely with database administrators to support Oracle Database configuration, performance optimization, scalability, and stability in line with Temenos implementation requirements.
• Support Temenos application environments running on AIX 7.2.
• Monitor and troubleshoot file systems, including GPFS, in clustered and multi-server environments.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, network, database, and middleware teams during system outages, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities.
• Support capacity, performance, and availability management of the core banking application stack.

5. Environment and Release Management

• Support application deployments, configuration changes, and environment readiness across Development, UAT, Staging, Pre-Production, Production, and DR environments.
• Coordinate scheduled releases, emergency deployments, core banking patches, and configuration changes with development, QA, infrastructure, and support teams.
• Ensure version compatibility and configuration alignment across Temenos components and associated middleware.
• Validate system readiness following deployments, upgrades, patches, and environment changes.
• Support release documentation, rollback planning, and post-deployment verification.

6. Batch, End-of-Day (EOD), and Interface Monitoring

• Monitor and support End-of-Day (EOD) processing, batch jobs, and T24 services across Production, UAT, and Disaster Recovery environments.
• Monitor traffic and integration flows between the core banking platform and connected systems.
• Investigate and resolve batch failures, interface errors, reprocessing issues, and data consistency problems.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely batch completion and uninterrupted banking operations.
• Support the validation and recovery of critical services following processing failures.

7. Security and Access Administration

• Support application-level user access, operational roles, and permissions in coordination with information security and access management teams.
• Ensure operational access and administrative activities comply with the bank's security policies and audit requirements.
• Coordinate with IT Helpdesk, internal stakeholders, and external auditors for business-as-usual (BAU) activities and audit requests.
• Maintain appropriate operational records and support evidence collection for audits and compliance reviews.

8. Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as the primary technical coordination point with Temenos support for product defects, core fixes, patches, and customization-related issues.
• Coordinate with internal application support, development, infrastructure, database, network, and middleware teams.
• Provide clear technical updates, troubleshooting findings, and resolution plans to relevant stakeholders.
• Follow up on vendor cases and ensure timely implementation and validation of recommended fixes.

9. Documentation and Operational Readiness

• Develop, maintain, and update operational runbooks, BAU procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and recovery documentation.
• Prepare operational checklists for releases, upgrades, patches, and environment changes.
• Participate in core banking implementation and enhancement projects.
• Support the transition of project deliverables into Business-as-Usual (BAU) operations.
• Prepare and validate handover documentation, recovery procedures, and operational readiness checklists.

Qualifications and Experience

• 8–10 years of relevant experience in core banking application administration, preferably with Temenos T24/Transact.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting Temenos applications in a live banking production environment.
• Strong understanding of banking application architecture, middleware, database connectivity, integration flows, and batch processing.
• Experience coordinating with development, infrastructure, database, network, information security, and vendor support teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, incident management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive approach, strong sense of ownership, and ability to work effectively in a business-critical banking environment.
