P1 Trading Operations Analyst

Role Overview
The Trading Operations Analyst is a frontline operations professional responsible for supporting the post trade lifecycle across Equities, Fixed Income, FX/Global Currency, and Options, with a primary focus on enabling three strategic shifts: US extended trading hours, multi currency capabilities, and compressed settlement timelines. The role safeguards client experience and firm risk by executing well defined procedures, maintaining strong controls, and coordinating across Operations, Technology, Risk, Finance, and external market utilities/partners to ensure timely clearance, settlement, and accurate asset servicing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1) Extended Trading Hours Coverage & Exception Management
> Provide operational support aligned to expanded trading sessions, including early morning readiness and overnight/extended-hours monitoring as the operating window expands (e.g., automation of pre market start and broader overnight offerings).
> Monitor trade flow health and rapidly investigate breaks, rejects, and processing delays that surface during non standard hours, ensuring clear documentation and escalation per runbooks.
> Execute disciplined follow the sun handoffs with US-based teams to maintain continuity, including status summaries of open exceptions, deadlines, and risk items.
2) Clearance & Settlement Operations (Equities, FI, Options)
> Support end to end clearance and settlement activities, including trade matching/confirmation readiness, validation timelines, and post batch controls required under compressed processing windows.
> Investigate and resolve settlement exceptions (e.g., unmatched/failed items, missing settlement instructions, late adjustments), partnering with internal stakeholders to drive timely resolution and reduce settlement risk.
> Maintain strong operational discipline around cutoffs, processing windows, and control points as market infrastructure extends operating hours and settlement deadlines compress.
3) Multi Currency Trade Support & Funding / FX Coordination
> Support multi currency booking and downstream lifecycle impacts by validating currency attributes, ensuring accurate processing paths, and escalating defects that create breaks in reporting, settlement, or client experience.
> Coordinate with funding/FX and related Ops partners to ensure timely same day actions required by accelerated settlement expectations, and to reduce avoidable fails due to currency or funding misalignment.
> Contribute to operational readiness for multi currency platform enhancements by executing UAT support, documenting procedures, and identifying control requirements and exception patterns.
4) Asset Servicing Support (Corporate Actions, Options Lifecycle, Income Events)
> Support servicing events that impact client trading and post trade processing during extended sessions, including identification and escalation of events that create halts/eligibility changes and time sensitive processing requirements.
> Perform checks and validations to ensure operational readiness after nightly processing, particularly where servicing events and compressed processing windows increase client and operational risk.
5) Reconciliations, Controls, and Audit Readiness
> Perform daily/periodic reconciliations and reasonability checks across key outputs (positions/cash/settlement status) and document investigation steps, approvals, and outcomes in an audit-defensible manner.
> Ensure adherence to SOPs, including escalation protocols for incidents, control breaks, and time sensitive exceptions, and support updates to procedures as the operating model evolves.
> Participate in continuous improvement to reduce manual touchpoints, strengthen monitoring, and improve Required Skills / Qualifications
> Bachelor's degree (Finance, Business, Operations, or related) or equivalent practical experience.
> 1-3 years of experience in Trading Operations, Trade Support, Clearance/Settlement, or Asset Servicing (Equities, Fixed Income, Options, and/or FX).
> Strong analytical and investigative skills with a controls mindset; ability to resolve exceptions under time pressure and within cutoff-driven deadlines.
> Strong written/verbal communication; comfortable documenting outcomes and coordinating cross functionally across time zones.
> Proficiency in Excel and operational ticket/case tooling; ability to synthesize data into clear exception narratives and escalation notes.
> Willingness to support a coverage model aligned to US extended trading hours, including rotation for early mornings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
Preferred
> Prior exposure to extended-hours / overnight processing models and follow-the-sun handoffs.
> Experience supporting multi currency processing impacts (e.g., currency attributes, funding/FX coordination, or downstream reporting impacts).
> Familiarity with operating environments where infrastructure changes expand processing windows and compress deadlines, requiring stronger monitoring and exception discipline.
> Comfort contributing to UAT, procedure updates, and control design as programs roll through phased delivery.
