About the Role

Total Wine & More is seeking a Manager, Public Relations to support and execute public relations strategies that strengthen the company’s reputation, visibility, and external communications. This role will partner closely with agency partners, executive leaders, and internal stakeholders to manage media relations, support crisis and issues management, prepare leaders for media opportunities, and execute localized PR programs for grand openings and market-level storytelling. This role is ideal for a strong writer and proactive PR professional who can manage details, build relationships, and turn business priorities into clear, compelling, external communications. You will report to the Director, Corporate Communications & Public Relations.

 

You will

• Drive the development, execution, and measurement of PR strategies that advance company priorities, strengthen reputation, and increase visibility.

• Partner with the Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations and agency partners to manage national and local PR efforts.

• Manage complex crisis communications and reputation initiatives by monitoring issues, assessing impacts, developing responses, aligning stakeholders, and coordinating timely execution.

• Manage national and local media relations by identifying stories, drafting pitches, coordinating outreach and interviews, and executing PR for grand openings, community events, key market moments, and regional storytelling across broadcast, digital, print, and trade media.

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with leaders, internal stakeholders, agencies, and media contacts to gather information, align messaging, and deliver accurate, timely external communications.

• Develop compelling PR and executive communications materials, including press releases, statements, talking points, award submissions, LinkedIn posts, briefings, key messages, Q&As, and interview strategies, to prepare leaders for media opportunities.

• Maintain the external PR calendar by tracking media opportunities, agency deliverables, executive visibility, local market activity, and reputation initiatives.

• Monitor, assess, and communicate media trends, competitor activity, and reputational risks, recommending proactive strategies to leadership.

You will come with

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field.

• 5-8 years of experience in public relations and media relations.

• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and message development skills.

• Experience managing media relations across broadcast, digital, print, and trade outlets.

• Experience managing agency timelines, deliverables, feedback, and next steps.

• Understanding of crisis communications, issues and reputation management, and media monitoring.

• Ability to prepare senior leaders for external opportunities with clear, business-focused materials.

• Strong project management, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, agency partners, and media contacts.

• Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or time-sensitive communications.
