.NET Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and RESTful APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core Web API.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL Server queries and stored procedures to ensure reliable application performance.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external systems, implementing appropriate authentication, error handling, and retry mechanisms.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with software development best practices.
• Implement automated tests to ensure code quality, application stability, and functionality.
• Apply security best practices, including input validation, secure secrets management, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues by analyzing application logs, database records, and system behavior.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain reliable software solutions within a regulated environment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable security standards, internal policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in C# and .NET development, including hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core Web API in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including writing, debugging, and optimizing stored procedures and queries.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication mechanisms, and third-party API integrations.
• Experience with automated testing, clean-code principles, and software debugging practices.
• Good understanding of application security, including input validation, secrets management, and common web vulnerabilities.
• Interest in banking and financial technology; previous experience in banking, fintech, or other regulated environments is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and a disciplined approach to troubleshooting.
• Good written communication skills in English and fluency in Arabic for day-to-day communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React and TypeScript or Angular.
• Familiarity with payment integrations, including card payments, instant payments, or bill-payment systems.
• Experience with Docker, Redis, and background-job processing frameworks.
